Last week when The World's Best aired, we witnessed the first set of the battle rounds. And on Wednesday, when the reality TV competition series aired the next episode, we saw some more battles that left judges and viewers mesmerized.
'The World's Best' recently premiered on CBS but it already has fans and viewers rooting for their favorite contestants. Hosted by James Corden, 'The World's Best' is keeping up to their name, providing viewers their deserved dose of entertainment.
Actress Drew Barrymore, drag star RuPaul Charles and Faith Hill join the judging panel as the main judges. Joining them are 50 other experts who are professionals in different fields of entertainment. Known as the "Wall of the World" these judges hail from around the globe, and will help the main judging panel decide a winner.
When the show aired Wednesday, we saw a new set of acts battle it out for a place in the championship round. And it was surely a hard face-off because each contestant was nearly perfect at what they did. While we wait for the third round of the battle rounds to commence next week, let's take a look at the top 3 performances that wowed the judges more than the others, leading them to advance to the next round.
Performing their rendition of 'And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,' the TNT Boys, left everyone with goosebumps by the end of their performance. It is safe to say this was their best performance yet by far. Faith Hill was right when she called them "Superstars" because their confidence radiates with each performance and they let nothing stop them.
These kids are definitely born to perform and they are doing an amazing job at it. They are among the few top contestants who will surely make it all the way to the finals. At the end of their performance, just like the first round, the TNT Boys received an almost perfect score. And it was well deserved. Competing against Emotional Line, the TNT Boys won the battle with ease. And this came as no surprise because the TNT Boys had the crowd cheering for them throughout the performance.
The acapella group performed their rendition of 'In the Air Tonight,' which was totally different from the original song by Phil Collins and the judges seemed to love it. Especially since the song was a familiar one. Their fun and upbeat version had everything one would want to see in a performance, which made it stand out among the rest. Even RuPaul agreed by saying it consisted of everything he would like to see in an act. Competing against William Close it was an easy win for Naturally 7. They scored an overall of 95 points, which now allows them to advance to the next championship rounds.
These Taekwondo masters are surely breathtaking. After their stunning performance in the audition, Kukkiwon was back in the battle round with a new set of tricks in the bag and this rapid-fire board breaking literally left everyone at the edge of their seats. Fans and viewers could see Faith Hill cheering for them with a standing ovation throughout the performance.
Drew Barrymore referred them as 'Bruce Li meets Fred Astaire.' Receiving such high praise from the judges and 'Wall of the World', their scores were quite low compared to the other two. But anyhow Kukkiwon still made it through the battle round against Los Vivancos with a score of 83 points.
The final round of the face-offs will air next week on The World's Best on CBS. Check your local listings for more information.
