'The Witcher' Season 3: Henry Cavill will have 'heroic send-off' before Liam Hemsworth's Season 4 entry
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Henry Cavill has been facing a string of bad luck. After he announced his exit from the role of 'Geralt of Rivia', he still had his 'Superman' gig lined up — that is of course until 'Synderverse' was scrapped entirely with DC opting to go with James Gunn's vision with new actors. However, as Season 3 of 'The Witcher' is nearing its release date, showrunner Lauren Hissrich has teased something for ensuring a good farewell for Cavill.
'The Witcher' Season 3 will be Cavill's last time as Geralt. While he has been welcoming of Liam Hemsworth as his replacement in Season 4, fans were not happy with the re-casting. For long-time fans of 'The Witcher', Cavill perfectly embodied the spirit of Geralt and wanted to continue seeing him in the role for as long as possible.
What is the 'heroic send-off'?
While not much has been revealed about how 'The Witcher' Season 3 will end but its creator Hissrich has assured that Cavill will have a 'heroic' send-off from the series as the show will start preparing for Liam Hemsworth's take on the lead role in Season 4. Deadline reported Hissrich saying that, "Geralt’s big turn is about giving up neutrality and doing anything that he has to do to get to Ciri [Freya Allan]. And to me, it’s the most heroic sendoff that we could have, even though it wasn’t written to be that".

Geralt will give up on his neutrality
Geralt giving up on his neutrality shows his willingness to protect Ciri from everything, which may lead to Geralt being more proactive in Season 3. Even Cavill mentioned at the Netflix Tudum event that the stakes are a lot higher for Geralt at this point, because he is finally realising the importance of loved ones. Season 3 of the hit Netflix series will witness Geralt acknowledging his feelings and revealing his more paternal side towards Ciri.
While Season 3 would finally address the build-up that took place in the previous two seasons, it would also be preparing Geralt to take up a new mission in Season 4. Hissrich further said, "Geralt has a new mission in mind when we come back to him in Season 4. He’s a slightly different Geralt than we expected. Now, by the way, that’s an understatement”.
'The Witcher' Season 3 Volume 1 will start streaming from June 29, 2023 on Netflix.
