After teasing his fifth studio effort ‘The Dawn’ since August 2021, it looks like The Weeknd has finally made up his mind to drop the album. The R&B crooner took his official Instagram and Twitter accounts respectively over the weekend and quickly broke the Internet after he dropped a hint about ‘The Dawn’s release date.

The Grammy-winning singer, who enjoys close to 36 million followers on Instagram, shared a picture of a green yard with the sun shining among the trees and captioned it as, “wake up at dawn tomorrow…”. The singer's loyal fans, who have been eagerly waiting for his new full-length project, erupted with joy but a few claimed that the singer might be playing with them again just like in the past. ‘The Hills’ hitmaker’s latest project is a follow-up to his fourth album ‘After Hours’ which featured hits like, ‘Save Your Tears’, ‘Heartless’, and ‘Blinding Lights’.

Is The Weeknd finally dropping ‘The Dawn’?

Looking at his latest social media post, it does seem The Weeknd might finally drop the album. According to his caption, the 31-year-old star has hinted that the album might see the light of the day on Monday, January 3. However, it is a very unusual day to release an album as the new music usually hits the leading streaming platforms on Friday. The Weeknd’s new album hint comes a day after he shared a screenshot of a conversation he had with La Mar Taylor, the co-founder of XO Records. In the cryptic Instagram post, the singer discussed his new studio effort revealing his plans that he might drop the entire album at once instead of a traditional album rollout so that he can "enjoy it with the people."

The Weeknd, in August 2021, had shared the first look of the project right after teasing it first at the Billboard Music Awards in May 2021. Taking to his Instagram, the R&B singer had earlier shared a pic where he was seen giving a side pose with his head tilted a bit low. The Weeknd looked dapper while donning an all-black leather overcoat as a strong light fell on his face.  He has been continuously teasing his fans on Twitter since then posting random tweets every now and then. He is yet to share an official release date of the album. MEAWW will keep you posted.
