Warning: Spoilers for 'The Walking Dead: Dead City' Episode 4

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: AMC's 'The Walking Dead' spin-off, 'The Walking Dead: Dead City', is close to the end. The latest episode, titled 'Everybody Wins A Price', provides the much-anticipated moment when our antagonist, The Croat, finally meets our protagonist, Negan.

This episode of 'The Walking Dead: Dead City' makes major progress in terms of going back to its original roots, which is providing nail-biting suspense. Much to the delight of the creators of the show, this episode has a gruesome group fight in which Maggie, along with her newfound group, is confronted by an army of walkers.

The Croat's short-lived reunion with Negan

From the very first episode, the spin-off was leading up to Negan encountering The Croat all over again. We have witnessed him being gravely affected by their past and that was exactly how the show started as well. As we already know, The Croat is all kinds of messed up and we get more proof about how he had tortured a young girl. Negan still seems to be haunted by the incident as Maggie also noted how lost he looked while spacing out and recalling the incident.

Maggie and Negan's plan, which was doomed to fail, against The Croat's army falls apart. As Negan separates from the group to hunt down the enemy and corner him somewhere away from his followers, we are provided with an amusing reunion of the two former friends, who are holding weapons against each other. However, it was not a full-blown fight, but more of a cat-and-mouse chase. This was expected as The Croat was more of a canny strategist than someone who depended on brute strength to win.

Pearlie Armstrong gets involved

Pearlie was involved in the little reunion between Negan and The Croat. It was still surprising that our antagonist would think of using him as bait rather than keeping him to himself to make him fight against Negan.

What The Croat actually goes on to do is throw Pearlie from a higher railing as an offering to Negan as the marshal has been seeking him out for breaking the law. The Croat is surprised to see Negan instantly reacting and saving Pearlie as they escape to someplace safe. He is further angered by the fact that Negan would choose someone who was out to arrest him as opposed to an "old friend."

While Negan did show his "kindness" by saving Pearlie, the latter remained loyal to his duties as a marshal as he went on to announce that the former was under arrest. It is possible and maybe even predictable, that Pearlie will join forces with Negan and eventually Maggie against The Croat. It would be interesting to see how it develops to that from this point.
