'The Voice' Season 24: Internet slams coaches as Claudia B gets booted after her 'heartfelt' rendition of Bruno Mars song
UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: During the Knockout round of 'The Voice' Season 24, Niall Horan saved Claudia B. As a result, many expected the former One Direction singer to perform another miracle and save the contestant from getting eliminated.
Claudia B sang Bruno Mars' song 'Talking to the Moon' for the Playoffs round.
"Claudia would fit right in the music industry right now," Niall remarked. "This is the perfect song for Claudia to show who Claudia is."
Claudia stated that she is emotionally tied to the song because this is the longest she has ever been apart from her fiance.
According to her former coach John Legend, her voice sounded much fuller than before. However, he still preferred her Nora Jones cover of the song 'Don't Know Why', after which he tried to steal her back from Niall.
"You made it your own song...smooth as butter," Reba McEntire stated.
Niall described the song as "pretty." He also said he got "goosebumps" from her singing, and Gwen Stefani agreed.
On YouTube, fans left comments after the performance saying, "As a Bruno Mars fan hearing her rendition of this, makes me so emotional. This song hits hard and she makes it more heartfelt." Another person chimed in, "I don’t care about what judges say but girl that was smooth and calm."
One person dubbed the performance as "simple and elegant" and further called it "A BEAUTIFUL performance." A fourth user noted, "Love this song by Bruno myself i wanna hear there voice not a repeat of what we already have and she did her own voice it was just beautiful thanks..."
Just like Niall, one viewer wrote, "When her angelic tone came in i had goosebumps!" "Them vocals are so beautiful," wrote another.
The Voice's Claudia B was stolen by Niall Horan from Team Legend
Claudia B was a three-chair turn in the blind auditions for her version of 'Human Nature', and she became a member of Team Legend. She subsequently lost her 'Son of a Preacher Man' combat against Mara Justine, and Niall stole her for his squad.
She sang 'Don't Know Why' in the knockouts but lost to Huntley. Despite this, Niall saved her by pressing his Save button. Claudia's last song on the program was 'Talking to the Moon' during the playoffs.
Who is Claudia B in 'The Voice' Season 24?
Claudia B grew up in a musical household, playing the piano, singing in church choirs, and fronting two rock bands in her early adolescence. Claudia, eager for more, bypassed her final year of high school by obtaining her GED in order to join Berklee College of Music.
She studied songwriting, vocal performance, and music management at Berklee. Claudia relocated to Nashville immediately after graduation, where she currently works full-time as a professional musician, writing and performing as a pianist and vocalist at many events.
Claudia is well-known for her inventive arrangements of pop, soul, country, and jazz covers, which many listeners prefer to the originals. During a trip to Paris in March, she proposed to fellow singer-songwriter Jacob Lutz.
