For many aspiring musicians NBC's popular singing competition show 'The Voice' is a dream platform to get their leg into the music industry. With country music legend Blake Shelton, EGOT recipient John Legend, Grammy winners Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande as the coaches, Season 21 of 'The Voice' drew in some of the most talented performers from across the country hoping for a chance to be mentored by one of the coaches and possibly even win the competition.

One such performer was none other than 20-year-old Lucas O'Reilly from Newport, Rhode Island. Lucas was always drawn to music and picked up the guitar at the tender age of six. He began by playing guitar in a garage band. When he was 18, he had the opportunity to perform in public. Despite his fears and anxiety, the young musician quickly realized that music was his calling. So, he began focussing on it and is currently toying with the idea of even dabbling at singing. Although he is a guitarist, Lucas also has a keen interest in singing, so he decided to try out for 'The Voice' to see if his idea of shifting from playing guitar to singing would be a good idea. Unfortunately for Lucas although none of the coaches turned for him during the auditions, he still managed to capture fans' attention.

Lucas revealed in his introduction that he is a huge fan of James Taylor and reportedly even performed in front of his idol. So, the 20-year-old decided to perform his idol's 'Carolina in my Mind' for his blind auditions. Despite his beautiful vocals, none of the coaches turned their chairs for him. The coaches felt that he needed a little bit more practice and asked him to come back and try again.

Fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment over Lucas not getting picked by any of the coaches. A fan tweeted, "Lucas deserved a turn #VoiceBlinds." Another fan wrote, "I think Lucas O’Reilly should’ve received a chair turn. #TheVoice." "Lucas was just a bit too beige to make the judges turn #TheVoice #VoiceBlinds," joked a fan.

Another fan shared, "Lucas O’Reilly has a cool tone and caresses those words nicely, such a warmth, feel-good performance but no coaches turn. #TheVoice #VoiceBlinds." "Up next on #VoiceBlinds performing is #LucasOreilly from Newport, R.I. and no chairs turn sadly. Wishing Lucas all the very best as he continues his journey in life," added a fan.

Hopefully, Lucas takes the coaches feedback and returns to the show to try out again.

'The Voice' Season 21 airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.
