The blind auditions on ‘The Voice’ Season 21 are about to end and the teams of the four coaches are filling up fast and therefore, only the extraordinary singers get to reserve a place in order to move to the next rounds. One such singer called Wyatt Michael graced the stage during round five of ‘The Voice’ blinds and managed to impress the judges with his jazzy vocals.

Wyatt crooned Bobby Darin's classic ‘Mack the Knife’ and quickly got the attention of Kelly Clarkson as she was the first one to press the red buzzer and turn her big red chair around. Ariana Grande followed her soon as she looked completely smitten by Wyatt’s performance. John Legend and Blake Shelton decided to sit out for this one as they were not looking for a singer who was into jazz for the moment.

Wyatt Michael opts for Team Kelly over Team Ariana

Wyatt, who has been familiar with music since childhood, is heavily inclined towards jazz. He was earlier part of a rock band called Chasing Avenir. However, he later turned towards Jazz and quickly became passionate about the genre. His Instagram bio labels him as a jazz singer and it further reads, “Inspired by the timeless legends of the past and the Great American Songbook.”

Coming back to his performance, John Legend said that his singing was “too spoken” and he couldn’t tell what his voice would sound like on other songs. Ariana, on the other hand, praised the crooner and said that she liked his choice of songs and that his voice was transporting. The Grammy-winning songstress further stated she could tell that that he was capable of more. When it came to Kelly, ‘The Voice’ coach claimed that no other singer sounded like him on the current season of the show. Kelly added that she wanted to sing with him in the finale with a big band behind them. Wyatt, who revealed that he and his girlfriend were Ariana fans, eventually picked coach Kelly to continue his rest of the journey on the singing reality show.

‘Kelly is a fabulous coach and you will learn a lot’

‘The Voice’ fans seemed impressed with Wyatt’s choice of judge. “Wyatt, Congrats and welcome to The Voice! Kelly is a fabulous coach and you will learn a lot. I too love the Crooners from the past but truly love @MichaelBuble”, said one person as another tweeted, “Voice at the end is getting to predictable. Same kind of singer as well 4chair turn. Give someone else a chance.”

The next one added, “Thank god he picked Kelly!!!” as another shared, “Team kelly good choose.  I really enjoyed you sharing your gift with us continue singing Wyatt.” Meanwhile, one shared, “David Michael Wyatt has the voice of an Angel fr. Flawless execution every time.” And, one concluded, “I'm very pumped for him to be on this team. He has a great voice and his presence will be a boost to the locker room.”
