'Paradise' receives exciting news about Season 3 as executive producer opens up: 'We know what the end...'
'Paradise' will get another season to reveal Samantha's true plans for the bunker and its residents, as Hulu renewed the post-apocalyptic series for Season 3 on Tuesday. The Emmy-nominated drama is created by Dan Fogelman, of 'This Is Us' fame, and stars Sterling K. Brown in the leading role. The series debuted on January 26, 2025, to a positive response and returned for Season 2 in February. The renewal news comes two weeks before the Season 2 finale, which airs on March 30.
Fogelman had mapped out the story of 'Paradise' over three seasons and had even pitched the series as such. Furthermore, the show's executive producer, John Hoberg, recently told The Hollywood Reporter that they want to follow Fogelman’s story arc and don't wish to extend the series beyond it. "We know what the end is, and it’s an end that would make it very difficult to make a season four come afterward." So, Season 3 will mark the final chapter in the post-apocalyptic drama. As of this writing, it's unclear when the third instalment will drop, but it will likely release in the first-half of 2027.
Furthermore, 'Paradise' topped Hulu's Top 15 Today list since Season 2 premiered on February 23. Its mixture of political intrigue and sci-fi elements makes it an entertaining watch, and Disney has the numbers to prove it. Disney's statistics also confirm that the political sci-fi thriller has been streamed for about 12 billion minutes globally. With such impressive figures, there was no doubt that the series would get greenlit for another instalment.
'Paradise' is set three years after an apocalyptic event forces a group of survivors to seek refuge inside a city-sized underground bunker in Colorado. In Season 2, Special Agent Xavier Collins ventures out of the bunker to search for his wife, Teri, and encounters other survivors on the ground. As he pieces together the story of the last three years above the ground, Xavier makes startling discoveries about the bunker's creator, billionaire Samantha Redmond. Meanwhile, the peaceful community inside the bunker falls into disarray as new revelations about the city's origins emerge.
The political thriller's talented cast line-up features Julianne Nicholson as Samantha 'Sinatra' Redmond, Sarah Shahi as Gabriela Torabi, Nicole Brydon Bloom as Jane Driscoll, Krys Marshall as Nicole Robinson, Enuka Okuma as Teri Rogers-Collins, Aliyah Mastin as Presley Collins, Percy Daggs IV as James Collins, and Charlie Evans as Jeremy Bradford, in addition to Brown. Moreover, James Marsden appears as the US President Cal Bradford, Shailene Woodley as Annie Clay, Thomas Doherty as Link, and Jon Beavers as Billy Pace in recurring roles. Viewers can watch the last two episodes of 'Paradise' Season 2 on Mondays at 3 a.m. ET on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
