It has been nine years since 'The Voice' first aired on TV and the show is already in its 19th Season which is about to start airing soon. Continue reading to know what's in store for the audiences in what's about to be the first-ever socially-distanced season of the hit show.

Release date

'The Voice' Season 19 will premiere on October 19, 2020. If fans and audiences of the show are to be believed, Season 19 will be shot at the studio sans the audiences who will still be able to be a part of the show via Zoom. The previous season was still half-way when the coronavirus pandemic regulations led to all productions being shut down.

The show decided to continue with the season and was back on TV following a two-week break. The coaches and their mentees continued working on their performances virtually and the showrunners and crew made all arrangements to ensure that there's no glitch in this "shot from home" season. The season drew to a close earlier this year on May 19, 2020, with Todd Tilghman being crowned as the winner.

Plot

Multiple times Emmy-winning show 'The Voice' features an innovative format comprising five stages of competition: the blind auditions, the battle rounds, knockouts, playoffs and, finally, the live performance shows. The singers with the lowest number of votes are sent home each week. The last contestant standing is then named winner of 'The Voice' receiving the grand prize of a recording contract.

Host

Carson Daly

(NBC)

Carson Daly has hosted all 19 seasons of the show and has also acted as a producer on a number of seasons, including the upcoming one.

Coaches

Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend will assume their position as coaches on Season 19, once again, when the season returns in October. Nick Jonas was a coach on Season 18 but he bid adieu to the show at least for the 19th edition and stepping in instead is returning coach Gwen Stefani.
