Resuming after a week of US presidential election coverage 'The Voice' Season 19 is back to its regular schedule. After wrapping up the blind auditions, the singing reality show has now moved to the battle rounds where we will see 10 contestants from each team battling their way up to the Knockout round. Each of the coaches – Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend will pair two of their artists against each other in a sing-off. Only one will move on to the Knockout Rounds.

The very first part of the battle rounds kick-started with the face-off between mother-daughter trio Worth the Wait and Taryn Papa on the song ‘Little White Church’ who are part of Blake Shelton’s team. The first lot was seen getting a lot of tips and tricks from Kane Brown who will be seen mentoring all the contestants from Team Blake. Singer Taryn Papa kick-started the very first battle round of the evening with her powerful performance standing in her ring whilst facing the talented trio.

After the performance ended, Gwen Stefani praised Taryn Papa saying her personality really came out in the performance but she gave her vote to Worth the Wait. John opted for Taryn Papa whereas, Kelly went for Worth the Wait saying they took advantage of every single thing on the stage. It was ultimately Blake whose vote was counted for his team and he picked the mother-daughter trio Worth the Wait to make them qualify for the next Knockout round. Taryn, however, was saved by Blake and we will see her in the next rounds.

The internet was also quick to react on the very first battle round of the evening. One user said, “Worth The Wait was good! But I feel that Taryn should have won the battle. Glad Blake saved her though @NBCTheVoice” Another stated, “Awesome battle sounded great. They're all very good . Blake has game-changers.” One added, “Awesome save blake!! I actually thought she won that battle.”
