It's time to say goodbye to 'The Voice' for a short period after the series crowned its season 17 winner earlier this week. But 'The Voice' season 18 will be returning to our screens in 2020.

With the famed reality series expected to return in February 2020, a whole new roster of contestants will battle it out for a chance hoping to make it all the way through. But there will be some changes in Season 18, especially in the coaches' seat. Gwen Stefani will not return for Season 18, and taking her place as the coach is none other than Nick Jonas.

The news of Nick replacing Gwen in Season 18 was announced earlier during Season 17's Blind Auditions. While there are around two months left for the new season to grace our screens, here's everything you need to know about the forthcoming season of 'The Voice'.

Release Date

'The Voice' Season 18 will release on February 24, 2020, only on NBC.

Format

According to NBC, "The four-time Emmy Award-winning 'The Voice' returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show's new season. The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: the Blind Auditions, then the Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and, finally, the Live Performance Shows. The singers with the lowest number of votes will be sent home each week. In the end, one will be named 'The Voice' and will receive the grand prize of a recording contract."

Coaches

Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend will take their seats as coaches once again when the series returns for its spring season. But Gwen Stefani will not be returning, and taking her place as a new coach is none other than Nick Jonas.
