'The Voice' Season 17: Team Legend says mentoring by John Legend, the 'Sexiest Man Alive', makes them confident

The team was nervous about being with John Legend but then they realized his ability to put them at ease.

Season 17 of 'The Voice' is just about to get intense with just 13 contestants remaining. Since this week was all about dedicating songs to beloved ones, we took this opportunity to talk to the legendary singers of the Team Legend. Being mentored by People's Sexiest Man Alive, it must be an experience of a lifetime!

In an interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) and on being asked if there was a specific performance where they thought they were not one in a million anymore and they had one legitimate shot at this, Will Breman said, "We're our own biggest critics and for me, I go over with myself with a fine-toothed comb. But for me, that moment came last week. I thought I did okay with my song. I thought I did well enough to at least get some votes in. And then Kelly stood up and said, "You just won the Voice. I was jaw-droppingly thrilled."

Katie Kaden too went on to share and she said, "Tonight I got to work the stage a little bit that's something I've never been able to do. I walked down steps and didn't fall and break my face, so I felt great and I had so much fun!"

Marybeth Byrd said she was very vulnerable and hopes that America could relate to what she's been going through. "After tonight I feel really good and really at peace about it." Marybeth had a great loss right when she started off in the show, and she also tells us that it has been difficult to not be with the family, but God is "my best friend and he's always there for me and he's even put me here, so I give him all the praise and glory."

On being asked about the team's experience of working with 'The Sexiest Man Alive', Will said, "I'm pretty sure sexiness comes with proximity, so doesn't that make us the world's sexiest 'The Voice' contestants?"

The contestants appear more confident about themselves as they have evolved and their Mentor, John Legend, has much to do with it. Katie recalls the one thing John tells her, "Trust your instincts. Going by your gut feeling is always the best because you know it deep down. It helped me validate myself as an artist!"

Marybeth on being 18 years old on the show, being coached by John says that he has helped her find herself musically, and he has taken her down the right path, for establishing her musical career.

"He has been so encouraging to all of us. John has this amazing ability to get people at ease. When we first met him, we were all really nervous, but when then he helped us feel comfortable. He has these qualities which definitely make him the 'Sexiest Man Alive' adds Will.

The' Legend'ary trio are keen on meeting Chrissy Tiegen and can't hold their excitement for their journey ahead in the show.
