'The Voice' Preview: Here’s what to expect from Season 19 finale as top 5 contestants battle for the crown

Season 19 of ‘The Voice’ is nearing its end as we saw the results from the semi-final round being announced recently after America voted for their favorite contestants. Only the top five steered into the finale while sending the rest of the artists back home. Let's take a look at the highlights from the semi-finale and what to expect next. 

Highlights from the semi-finale

In Episode 15, the top nine contestants namely Ian Flanigan and Jim Ranger from Team Blake, Carter Rubin and Ben Allen from Team Gwen, John Holiday, Tamara Jade and Bailey Rae from Team Legend and Desz and Cami Clune from Team Kelly sang their heart out to fight for a spot in the finals. We also saw how artistes from different teams were paired in trios and crooned over a single song. The singer with the maximum votes was automatically moved forward to the next round which we saw in Episode 16.

The results of the top nine were announced in Episode 16. We saw John Holiday, Desz, Jim Ranger and Carter Rubin easily advancing to the finale. For the fifth spot, the rest of the contestants performed a solo set with an intention to get the instant save from the audience. The contestants in the instant save round included Ben Allen from Team Gwen, Cami Clune from Team Kelly, Bailey Rae and Tamara Jade from Team John and Ian Flanigan represented Team Blake. The contestants performed gave their best shot as it was their last chance to get saved. In the end, it was Ian Flanigan from Team Blake who made it to the finale.

What to expect in the finale?

‘The Voice’ finale will be held on two nights. Fans can catch the performances on December 14, whereas the final results are scheduled for December 15, 2020. On the performance night, we will see John Holiday, Desz, Jim Ranger, Carter Rubin and Ian Flanigan battling it out for the trophy. The finalists are expected to pick their own song for a solo performance. If we talk about, the results night, we can expect a nail-biting experience as America will vote for the deserving candidate.  

The show will be aired on NBC. The viewers can also watch the singing reality show on the official website of NBC and on their official app along with the network's new streaming service Peacock.
