John Holiday from John Legend’s team wrapped up the play-off’s premiere on Episode 12 of ‘The Voice’ Season 19. Holiday has been touted as one of the top contenders of the singing reality to show from day one. The 35-year-old Texas resident gave a stellar performance on Frank Sinatra’s ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ which left his coach John Legend absolutely stunned.

Holiday gave a little twist to the cover with a creative mix of Jazz with the original. While speaking to the trained Opera singer after his performance, Legend asserted, “You have shown so much of who you are on the show. Jazz, opera, soul — we have seen so much of you.” He added, “You are one of the greatest vocalists we have ever seen on the show. We are so happy to have you and I am so glad I got to work with you.”

The reality show’s viewers stormed Twitter as soon as Holiday wrapped up the episode. Most users spoke about how he chose the wrong song this time. One user said, “His voice is like nails on a chalkboard.”  One individual posted, “Worst song selection in Voice history. John has an incredible voice, but to do that to Frank is disgusting. Wasted op. Hope it sends him home.”

Sharing the same feeling, another added, “wrong song sorry. Good luck” One stated, “John holiday has disappointed me. Fly me to the moon is my favorite song and he sang is so badly. #TheVoice” Another expressed, “Guessing that brief slip into nearly a baritone by John Holiday wasn't intentional since it was a 1-time thing during that performance. A glimpse of his natural voice? #TheVoice
