'The Voice' 2022: Who is Jay Allen? Country singer dedicates song to mom after he lost her to Alzheimer's
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There's no denying the power of music. Be it the lyrics or just the tune, a song can evoke several strong emotions within a person. After witnessing his mother slowly fade away due to early onset of Alzheimer’s, Jay Allen saw a glimmer of hope when his mother heard a song and it momentarily brought back her memories. This pushed Jay to focus on music and using it to create awareness about Alzheimer’s.

Who is Jay Allen?
Jay Allen is a 36-year-old country singer from Nashville, Tennessee, who originally hails from Cedar Falls, Iowa. After seeing his mother suffer from Alzheimer’s, Jay wrote “Blank Stares”. A video of him performing the song with his mother on stage in Iowa went viral with over 500 million views on Facebook. His mother has since passed, but Jay continues to be an advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association, and the song has gone on to raise over $50 million dollars to help fight the disease.
Jay is engaged to UMG artist, Kylie Morgan, set to be married Oct. 1, 2022.

For his 'The Voice' audition, Jay picked Cody Johnson's ''Til You Can't'. His heartwarming performance instantly resonated with husband-wife duo Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, who turned their chairs for him. Blake tried pitching himself by pointing out as a country music legend he could help out Jay in honing his vocals. But Gwen latched onto Jay's interest in fusing country with rock, and declared that she could help him explore that. The singer shocked everybody when he declared that he would be joining Gwen's tea, leaving Team Blake with zero members!
