LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Whoopi Goldberg addresses him as “you-know-who” and her co-hosts are anti-him. So, when given the chance, the discussion about Donald Trump is always one that lasts long and gets everyone’s attention, no matter which party the person belongs to. 'The View' co-hosts get even more attention when the topic of conversation is more than one person from the Republican party, in this case, Ron DeSantis and Trump.

While this time viewers focussed on several different aspects of the segment, Sunny Hostin stood out for the fans. Along with her knowledge about law and most importantly, reading out the legal note at the end, Hostin ruled the entire segment about DeSantis and Trump.

‘Not a political difference’

DeSantis does not believe that Trump should be charged for his crimes, and “wants to focus on looking forward” as per a clip shown by ‘The View'. This struck a chord with the co-hosts and especially Hostin as she said, “It’s sort of disconcerting here is that he is a lawyer, and he is in effect saying that the law does not apply equally to everyone, and even if there is evidence of criminality and I like the way that Jake Tapper phrased that. If there is evidence of criminal activity shouldn’t he be held responsible, and the answer to that was no.”

After being interrupted for a moment, Hostin clarified that that’s what DeSantis meant. Hostin continued, “Taking national security documents is not a difference of opinion. Using money to bribe a mistress is not a difference of opinion. Starting an insurrection and trying to usurp our very democracy is not a political difference. And I found his answer to be deeply unserious.” Hostin earned a big round of applause from the audience, but ultimately, her legal note stole the show.

Sunny Hostin’s legal note on ‘The View’

As the segment on DeSantis and Trump came to an end, Hostin announced, “I have a little noise to make,” and Joy Behar responds, “The dreaded legal note.” A legal note is added towards the end of most political segments on ‘The View’ and is announced by Hostin. Hostin looks at the camera with a smoldering smirk, “In a statement Trump called his latest probe a witchhunt, and total political weaponization of law enforcement. He has continued to deny any wrongdoing and maintains his innocence in both state and federal criminal cases. He has pleaded guilty to all of those charges.” When Hostin finished the legal note, all co-hosts chimed in with a “mhmm.” It was less about the content, and more about how Hostin delivered it that stole everyone’s attention.

‘Go Sunny’

Fans have made it evident that Hostin was the star of the show as one person commented on a clip posted by ‘The View’ on YouTube, “The panel was on point and strong but Sunny shined in this segment starting with her opening about him being a lawyer but her ending with ‘legal note’ was read with such underlying disdain, was a stroke of genius.” Another quipped, “I agree with Sunny. DeSantis is a lawyer, so he should know better that any and all crime should be handled seriously. However he does not. What a sad man.”

The highlight remained the legal note which left fans in splits. One person commented, “Sunny legal note and the way she did it.” Another said, “Sunny legal note is giving me life.” A third person wrote, “Sunny lives for that legal note chiiiiile!” Fans unanimously decided to cheer Hostin on after this segment as a person wrote, “Go Sunny!!”
