LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Joy Behar, and Sara Haines are all happily married but only Griffin isn’t a mother yet. While she hasn’t addressed the topic of children too often, especially not when it comes to her, she recently opened up a little about it during the Hot Topics segment on 'The View' as they discussed whether having a spouse is the ultimate goal in life.

Whoopi Goldberg, who is currently the only unmarried co-host, distanced herself from the conversation after she announced the topic to her co-hosts. However, Griffin, had a lot to say about marriage, eventually letting it slip that she does want to have children.

‘There’s something more important’

The main focus of the segment was on the importance of men and whether one needs to be in a relationship. Sunny Hostin was the first co-host on this segment to talk about her mother being worried that she would never have grandchildren, and later, Sara Haines also joined in, as her mother also expressed the same concern. More than halfway through this particular segment, Griffin gave her views on children and the pressure about it as she spoke about her version of this topic, “Well, my version of this is less that you have to have a partner, and I could literally land on the moon tomorrow, but if I don’t have a baby, some people in my life are like – hmm, good for you, but there’s something more important out there.”

What changed Griffin’s mind about having children?

Griffin then continued, “I get it, there’s this outside societal idea of what women need in life. For me, marriage…I always knew I wanted a husband. I never was necessarily sure I wanted kids.” She then clarified that she always wanted companionship, after which she said, “Being a child of divorce gave me some mixed feelings about having kids, but it was when I met husband, I was like – Oh I also want kids. It’s different for everyone, but I don’t like the external pressure. Because honestly, career matters, life…you know, moments and all those experiences you have should also matter.” Alyssa Farah Griffin and her husband, Max Griffin, got married in 2021 and have shared some incredible moments together, which are often reflected on Griffin’s Instagram.
