'The View' fans hail Joy Behar for her 'enlightening perspective' on 'man and wife': 'She dropped some truth bombs'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Wifey material’ is a term coined for a woman who has wife-like qualities, and this term was quick to become a hot topic on ‘The View.’ The co-hosts discuss whether or not being called ‘wifey material’ is a compliment, and all the ladies weigh in on this.
While each and everyone had something important to contribute, the fans could only focus on Joy Behar. Behar makes some very interesting points in this ‘Hot Topics’ segment that talk about gender roles in a marriage. Fans applaud Behar on her keen observation!
‘Your role is to be a wife’
Whoopi Goldberg read out the topic to her co-hosts, “Glamour magazine is taking issue with the term ‘wifey material,’ they say we shouldn’t consider it to be a complement and what it means is that you’re cute and submissive.” It didn’t take long for the co-hosts to chime in with their opinion on this particular term before Behar weighed in. Behar said, “You know the term wife is loaded. There was a time they would say: I now pronounce you man and wife. In other words, person and role.” The co-hosts have a moment of realization before Behar continues, “Your role is to be a wife, he can be a person, but not you. You have to play a role.” Behar, who has now been married twice has imparted this wisdom to the internet, and they have responded well to it.
‘She knows what’s up’
At 80, Behar is the senior-most co-host on ‘The View’ and fans have pointed that out as one says, “This is why it's great having a woman of Joy's age on the panel. She's been around long enough to have seen drastic evolution and changes in society. She knows what's up.” And another writes, “Joy's perspectives make 80 years seem like where you want to be! ❤” All fans seem unanimously agree with Behar on the statement she made, “Joy is on fire today. She is correct about ‘man and wife’”
While everyone might have their own opinion of the term ‘wifey material,’ they simply couldn’t look beyond Behar, who stole the show.
