Looks like the action-adventure themed animated series 'The Venture Bros' have had their last venture. Show creator Jackson Publick informed fans on Twitter that the series won't be returning with the eighth season.

"Unfortunately, it's true: Venture Bros has been canceled," tweeted Publick. "We got the highly disappointing news a few months ago, while we were writing what would have been season 8. We thank you, our amazing fans, for 17 years of your kind (and patient) attention. And, as always, We Love You," he added while announcing the news.

'The Venture Bros' last season aired on October 7, 2018, with the series having been renewed by cable network 'Adult Swim' for an eighth and final season. However, the rumors of the show being canceled began on September 6, 2020, following a tweet by the author of 'Go Team Venture!: The Art and Making of the Venture Bros,' in which he retweeted another tweet about shows that were canceled unnecessarily, saying, "The Venture Bros"

As soon as the Internet caught wind of the news, fans started reacting to it, as one user tweeted, "Venture bros being canceled is such a goddamn shame, especially considering it's one of THE best examples of adult animation done right. it was instantly one of my favorite shows, and for it to get canned before a proper finale is infinitely disappointing," and "I guess we should be grateful it got 7 incredible seasons and that it lasted as long as it did, because a lot of shows can't say the same. it's not even surprising that it got canceled, it never did get the recognition it deserved. it's just very disappointing."

While some slammed the cable network, Adult Swim and said, "As much as I love Adult Swim for curating and giving love to projects like these, for years even, this increasing practice they have of just pulling the plug on deserved finales is shameful and confusing," while another user said, "Adult Swim could easily allow the creators to set up a kick-starter for a finale comic, or a finale of.some kind. But they won't, and they will laugh at you if you ask about it. Like some sort of, fan."

While some fans who were waiting for a proper ending said, "The worst part is something being inexplicably canceled before having a proper ending. Very bad business not giving the team enough lead time on the decision."

While some hopeful fans made a 'request' to Netflix and said, "@netflix Think you could help out with with saving this amazing show? Like you did with Lucifer, Star Wars: Clone Wars (initially), Full(er) House, and so many others. You've been doing so well helping the animation industry please consider helping this masterpiece."

While some remembered the show and said, "I'll never forget being like fourteen and babysitting the kids across the alley and when theyd gone to bed, watching adult swim on their cable tv (which we didnt have at home) and seeing the very venture christmas special and being like what the f**k is this? i need to know more."

The series was meant to be a satire of similar-themed cartoons from the 1960s, 'The Adventures of Johnny Quest' that focused on boy adventurers. 'The Venture Bros.' has the distinction of being one of Adult Swim's longest-running shows, having been in production for around 17 years, with a total of seven series.
