‘The Talk’ sees Patrick Stewart admit not knowing what warp speed is in ‘Star Trek’ game with Alison Pill

When asked, “Would you rather be trapped in a room with a group of angry Cardassian or a group of angry Kardashians,” Pill did not hesitate to respond with the former, much to the mirth of everyone present

On Monday, the Daytime Emmy-winning CBS talk show ‘The Talk’ received a visit from two bonafide “Trekkies”: actors Patrick Stewart and Alison Pill who play Jean-Luc Picard and Dr. Agnes Jurati in CBS All Access's 'Star Trek' series, ‘Star Trek: Picard’.

The co-hosts -- Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, rapper Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba and Marie Osmond -- made the duo play a game, “Pick a Card Picard”, where the two answered burning questions about ‘Star Trek’.

79-year-old Stewart was the first to go, and he was asked what was the one piece of ‘Star Trek’ technology he would love to have in the present day, and his answer was almost immediate, “Transporter.” Obviously.

Pill, on the other hand, was asked, “Fill in the blank: I have always wondered what it would be like to _____ in space?” The ‘Devs’ actor took some time wondering what she would like to do in space, before answering, “I have always wondered what -- listen. Zero-G would be amazing. Like just floating around, having to operate -- I know we don’t have that on La Sirena, we have gravity on that ship. But, I would love to float in space one day!”

Stewart’s next question was a scandalous one: “Sh*g, Marry, Kill: A Klingon, a Romulan, a Borg.”

A visibly flustered Stewart said, “Well, given the nature of our new show, intergalactic relationships have changed. And so, I would have to stand alongside each one of these races and embrace them.” How politic. Of course, the retort arrived in the form of, “Oh, so you would sh*g them all,” to the laughter of everyone in the studio.

When asked, “Would you rather be trapped in a room with a group of angry Cardassian (a humanoid species from the Alpha Quadrant in the show) or a group of angry Kardashians (the socialite family),” Alison Pill did not hesitate to respond with the former, much to the mirth of everyone present.

Stewart was next asked, “Is there a ‘Star Trek’ term you’ve used several times, and still have no idea what it means?” The thespian, after a moment of thought, responded with “Warp Speed… I was once asked what warp speed was, and I said, ‘Well, you can’t do it on the freeway.'” Essentially, warp speed refers to traveling faster than the speed of light.

The final question was for Pill: “If you had to go into space for the next two years, what item would you take with you?” She said, pointing at Stewart, “yeah, I’d have to bring my P-Stew.”

‘The Talk’ airs Monday through Friday at 11 am PT.
