‘The Second World’: Airdate, where to watch, lineup and all about K-pop survival show
JTBC seems to be on a roll as following the announcement of their first K-pop music show ‘K-909’, they will also be launching a new survival show. Following the usual K-pop survival shows like ‘Girls Planet 999’, ‘Produce’ series, ‘MIXNINE’, we are getting more experimental formats like ‘Extreme Debut: Wild Idol’, ‘The Idol Band’ and ‘LOUD’. Well, JTBC’s newest survival show ‘The Second World’ is a novel competition program that will have popular idol rappers competing.
There have been several prejudices against idol rappers as some feel that they were given the position of a rapper in their group because they were not talented enough to be singers. Well, JTBC hopes to break that misconception with ‘The Second World’. The idol rappers that are competing will have to showcase their vocals by singing in their missions. We have the likes of Yubin of Wonder Girls fame, Mamamoo’s Moonbyul, WJSN’s Exy, Shin Jimin of AOA fame and more as part of the lineup.

Yubin formerly of Wonder Girls
Shin Jimin formerly of AOA
Oh My Girl’s Mimi
Billlie’s Moon Sua
This is Shin Jimin’s comeback to the K-pop industry after she left her group AOA and retired following allegations that she has bullied former group member Kwon Mina. After loopholes in Mina’s story, the general public has finally started warming up to Jimin. CLASS:y’s Seonyou is another unexpected participant as the others are all popular idol rappers and have been in the K-pop industry for years. Several of them have also participated in the rap survival show ‘Unpretty Rapstars’. 14-year-old Seonyou debuted in May after winning the survival show ‘My Teenage Girl’ that has viewers wondering if she is a hidden ace. The rest of the participants are all notable K-pop idols and are part of representative girl groups like the leading second-gen group Wonder Girls or the currently popular groups like Mamamoo and WJSN.
