CENTRAL EUROPE, EUROPE: HBO's gripping ongoing miniseries, 'The Regime' takes viewers on an exhilarating, dark comedy-infused trip into the heart of a failing regime.

The series revolves around Chancellor Elena Vernham (Kate Winslet), who is battling to keep her grip on the imaginary nation of Europe while also dealing with her fear of inheriting a lung ailment.

Her life changes drastically as she begins to be influenced by a violent ex-soldier named Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts).

As the series progresses, the uneasy alliance between the two sparks a national commotion as Elena attempts to keep control in the face of internal demons.

The last episode of the series focuses on Elena's encounter with America. She scares off American delegate Judith Holt (Martha Plimpton), demonstrating her unwillingness to rely on America for support.

As the episode begins, the series displays Herbert's continued influence over Elena, which poses a threat to the nation's well-being.

In a council meeting, Herbert announces the commencement of the Land Reform Policy, which practically implies transferring assets from the affluent to the poor, as Robin Hood does.

When the council attempts to downplay the new policy, he persuades them to execute it as quickly as possible.

However, there is insufficient money for the implementation. Mr. Laskin (Danny Webb), the head of the country's security service, informs her of the need to use her holding company's funds to finance the new policy — a request Elena rejects.

After noticing Herbert's increasing influence on her, Elena comes to her senses and chooses to take matters into her own hands.

In order to generate more publicity for her country globally, she intends to cause a stir by reuniting Faban corridors.

Additionally, she sends Herbert with the troops to implement the reunification to break free from his continued influence. Her plan works, which is not surprising, but Herbert takes note of Elena constantly avoiding him.

He confronts her on the implementation of the Land Reform Policy, which she attempts to undermine. Sensing her ignorance towards him, the disgraced soldier turns aggressive. In his aggression, the man chokes Elena violently.

After that, he goes to Emil Bartos (Stanley Townsend) and thrashes the businessman violently. The episode closes with Herbert being arrested, and Elena smiling as she watches his imprisonment on her monitor.
