'The Nevers' Full Cast List: Meet Laura Donnelly, Ann Skelly, Ben Chaplin and others from HBO's sci-fi drama

HBO is set to take the viewers on a magical ride with its new series titled ‘The Nevers’ featuring Laura Donnelly, Eleanor Tomlinson and Ann Skelly in pivotal roles.

The upcoming series, created by filmmaker Joss Whedon, tells the story of Amalia True (Laura Donnelly) and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly) doing everything to protect and shelter gifted “orphans” who have received abnormal abilities after a supernatural event. However, they would have to face the evil forces determined to annihilate their kind.

After the success of shows like ‘Westworld’ and ‘Raised By Wolves’, HBO would be hoping for a similar kind of reception to their upcoming show as well.

The series will be divided into two parts and will consist of 12 episodes. With Donnelly and Skelly in lead roles, the series is surely one of the most-highly-anticipated shows of the years. So, let’s take a look at the entire star cast of the series.

Laura Donnelly as Amalia True

Born on August 20, 1882, Laura Donnelly is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2004. She started her career as a stage actor and appeared in various theatre productions. In 2005, she made her acting debut with the TV series ‘Sugar Rush’. On the other hand, she made her feature film debut with the movie ‘Insatiable’ in 2008.

The actress went on to star in the horror movie ‘Dread’ in 2009 and received a lot of praise for her acting. She also played the character of Janet Fraser Murray in the hit TV show ‘Outlander’ from 2014 to 2017.

Apart from having a successful career in films and TV, she has made a name for herself on Broadway as well. Laura received the Best Actress at the 2018 Olivier Awards for ‘The Ferryman’. She was also nominated for the prestigious Tony Award in the Best Leading Actress in a Play category for the play.

Ann Skelly as Penance Adair 

The Irish actress started her professional acting career in 2015 and went on to become one of the brightest talents in the Irish entertainment industry. The actress attended the Irish Film Academy's weekend acting classes as a teen. She portrayed the role of Hannah Baylor in the TV series ‘Playground’ and received a lot of positive reviews for her acting. However, she gained a lot of prominence after portraying the character of Candice in the movie ‘Kissing Candice’.

She has received 3 nominations at the Irish Film and Television Awards.

Eleanor Tomlinson as Mary Brighton 

Tomlinson is one of the most prominent British actors working in Hollywood right now. Born on May 19, 1992, Eleanor May Tomlinson started acting at the age of 14 and appeared in the movie ‘The Illusionist’ alongside Edward Norton, Jessica Biel, and Paul Giamatti. The actress also appeared in the movie ‘Alice In Wonderland’ and played the role of Fiona Chataway.

After an extensive search, Tomlinson was cast as Princess Isabelle in ‘Jack the Giant Slayer’. Apart from the aforementioned projects, Tomlinson has made appearances in projects such as ‘The White Queen’, ‘Poldark’, ‘Loving Vincent’ and ‘The War of the Worlds’.

Rochelle Neil as Annie Carby 

Rochelle Neil is an accomplished actress who has starred in several projects since making her debut in 2006.

She has made guest appearances in TV shows like ‘Law & Order: UK’, ‘Death in Paradise’, ‘Doctors’, ‘Episodes’ and ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’. The actress played a major role in the miniseries ‘Guilt’ and received a lot of success.

Ben Chaplin as Inspector Frank Mundi

Chaplin is an English actor-turned-writer who became interested in acting as a teenager, after acting in a theatrical production in his school years. The actors has featured in various feature films such as ‘Washington Square’, ‘The Touch’, ‘The New World’, ‘London Boulevard’ and ‘Cinderella’.

He also received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Supporting Performer in ‘The Glass Menagerie’, and a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in ‘The Retreat from Moscow’.
