'The Masked Singer' Season 2 Episode 6: Sherri Shepherd is the celeb under the Penguin mask and fans say they knew it all along

Initially taking time to unmask, the Penguin revealed herself and it was none other than Emmy-Award winning actress and stand-up comedian Sherri Shepherd
UPDATED NOV 7, 2019

It's time to scream and shout and let it all out, as 'The Masked Singer' Season 2 returned after a two-week hiatus because of the World Series. This week, the series compensates for the hiatus and airs two back-to-back episodes.

Previously in Episode 5, the Skeleton was unmasked after he received the lowest votes. And after the judges made their guesses, it ended up being Paul Shaffer under the mask. This week, on Episode 6, we saw the next set of six contestants perform for a chance to stay unmasked.

The Rottweiler, Ladybug, Tree, Penguin, Leopard, and Fox all gave their best on stage hoping not to be the one getting unmasked at the night, but sadly one of them had to be unmasked. The masked singer with the lowest votes was unmasked, and that happened to be the Penguin.

The Penguin, during the pre-taped clues, revealed that she was a bright star who survived a tragedy. Using the references of 'The Office' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' the Penguin hinted that she might have been on a few sitcoms.

Performing her rendition of 'All About The Bass' by Meghan Trainor, we figured out easily that the Penguin isn't a seasoned singer.

Compared to her previous performance, the Penguin seemed to be having a lot of fun on stage during her performance and after that as well. She has some moves that would make you want to get up and dance. Her final clue was that she has had a lot of relationships with presidents.

The judges' final guesses were Sherri Shepherd, Star Jones, Mindy Kaling, Wanda Sykes, and Nicole Byer. Initially taking time to unmask, the Penguin revealed herself, and it was none other than Emmy-Award winning actress and stand-up comedian Sherri Shepherd.

Though Ken Jeong's final guess was Sherri, it had been Jenny McCarthy's guess right from the start, until she changed it to Nicole Byer in the end.

Jenny and Sherri have been good friends. Talking about it, Sherri said, "Jenny knows me so well, we've been through two marriages and divorces together, we've walked around naked together..."

Taking to social media after the reveal, fans shared that they knew it was Sherri under the mask all this while. "I knew it was her this round. I could hear her voice. Good job Sherrie-you was fabulous," wrote a fan on Twitter. Another added, "I Knew That  Was Sherri, I Heard Her Voice Everytime."

"Ahhhh I got it right Ms. Sherri Shepherd for the penguin #TheMaskedSinger," shared a fan while another said, "That could have ONLY been Sherri, her singing voice is literally her talking voice lol #TheMaskedSinger."

Did you guess it right?  'The Masked Singer' Season 2 airs every Wednesday night only on Fox. Check your local listings for more information.
