'The Magicians': Finale moves fans to tears as they bid goodbye to favorite show and wish it never ended

The series thrilled fans for nearly five years and they couldn't be thankful enough

Spoilers for 'The Magicians' Season 5, Episode 13 'Fillory & Further'

"Watching Fillory destroyed broke my heart. Are you crying too?" wrote Jade Tailor, who plays Kady Orloff-Diaz on the show. The answer from the fandom was a resounding yes.

'The Magicians' aired its final episode today and fans are in tears over the way it ended as they say goodbye to their favorite characters, Brakebills, and most definitively, Fillory. 

"Ok now I'm seriously crying. That was such a beautiful ending. It was more than I could have hoped for. Now more than ever I don't want it to end. There's sooo much potential left. PLEASE bring #TheMagicians back. There's so much left to explore," a fan wrote on Twitter, with the #SaveTheMagicians request going out again.

Fans wrote their farewell to the show, expressing just what it meant to them. "The Magicians finale is f****ng great. I know they didn't know it was the end when they wrote it, but it ties back to the beginning beautifully. I'm going to miss this show desperately," writes another fan.

Many fans took to the internet to express their gratitude for the series. "Thank you for this amazing 5 years and to be an inspiration, incredible, brave, amazing show and talk about mental illness and try to make it better (sic)," wrote this fan. "I can't believe the Magicians is ending. Thank you for the memories. I will cherish them always," says another.

"I’m crying. What a beautiful show. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this piece of literal magic to us all. A show that has meant so much to so many people," says this viewer. "Thank you, @MagiciansSYFY for all the love, the fear, and the friendships over the past 5 years. I was not prepared for all the tears I've shed just over this final episode. Thank you. I will always love this show," another tweeted

All in all, while fans wish the show could continue, the series finale resonated strongly with them, giving them all a chance to say their goodbyes. One fan wrote, "@MagiciansSYFY
ended in the most beautiful way. I am crying happy tears knowing somewhere the wellspring exists. Our stories are not ending. It has just begun no matter how crazy and insane it will be. Thank you everyone #TheMagicians."
