Who is Ken Kern? ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Season 4 gives heartwarming tribute to key crew member
One of the talking points of Netflix's hit legal drama, 'The Lincoln Lawyer' Season 4, was the heartfelt tribute card honoring the late Ken Kern. The tribute card at the end of Episode 6 says "In Memory of Ken Kern" before the music begins. This stirred curiosity among the fans.
Per Decider, a rep for the show confirmed that Kern was one of the accountants on 'The Lincoln Lawyer' who passed away. The outlet believed that adding Kern's tribute as part of one of the more emotional episodes was for good reason. The chapter reveals the death of David “Legal” Siegel (Elliott Gould).
The storyline says Legal was a father figure to Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and his death left the latter emotional, even amid fighting a case after being accused of murder. With Gould's character looked at as a warm human being, it appears the decision to honor Kern and his contributions felt just as fitting.
Earlier, co-executive producer and co-showrunner Ted Humphrey told Tudum about what to expect in season 4. "This is going to be the biggest and most personal challenge Mickey has ever faced, and also the biggest roller coaster we’ve yet taken our audience on. Following the incredibly suspenseful and emotional climax of Season 3, the stakes have never been higher because this time Mickey is the client. With his very life and reputation on the line, he’ll need the strength and support of his entire team, and his entire family, to fight for his future."
"And of course, our other characters will be dealing not only with Mickey’s case but with a slew of challenges they’re facing as well. As a director, I was so happy with how the third season finale turned out, and I am also directing the opener of Season 4, so it feels like we are picking up right where we left off, which is really fun for me and also creatively very satisfying."
On the cast front, returning alongside Garcia-Rulfo's Mickey Haller are Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, Neve Campbell, Elliott Gould, and Krista Warner. Cobie Smulders, Sasha Alexander, and Constance Zimmer joined the cast as the new faces. At the time of writing, the series is already renewed for a fifth season. There is no official word on when it will be released, though speculations are rife about a 2027 drop.
