'The Last Kids On Earth': Release, plot, cast, and everything you need to know about Netflix's animated series

With just less than a month left for the show to release, here's everything you need to know about the forthcoming, Netflix series, 'The Last Kids on Earth'. 

The Netflix adaptation of Max Brallier's 'The Last Kids on Earth' is all set to release in less than a month. The premiere date of the series is the same date the fifth book in the series releases.  'The Last Kids on Earth' is an animated zombie program, and the show has a star-studded cast who voice the characters and bring them to life. Here's everything you need to know about the forthcoming, Netflix series.

Release Date 

'The Last Kids on Earth' will release only on Netflix on September 17. 

Plot

According to Netflix, 'The Last Kids on Earth' is "based on a New York Times bestselling book series by the same name. It follows 13-year-old Jack Sullivan and a band of suburban middle schoolers who live in a decked-out treehouse, play video games, gorge themselves on candy, and battle zombies in the aftermath of the monster apocalypse. It’s a hilarious adventure filled with wisecracking kids, crazy gadgets, a lifetime supply of zombies and giant-sized monsters." 

Cast 

Nick Wolfhard

Nick Wolfhard the elder brother of Finn Wolfhard the Stranger Things star, will voice the main character, 13-year-old Jack Sullivan. He is best known for his roles in The 'InBetween', 'Under Wraps' and 'Aftermath'.

Mark Hamil

Mark Hamil, is an actor, voice actor, and writer, who will be voicing one among the characters in the series. Hamil is best known for his work as Luke Skywalker in the famed Star Wars films. He is especially known for voicing Joker, beginning with Batman: The Animated Series in 1992.

Apart from Wolfhard and Hamil, the other lineup of top-tier voice actors includes Rosario Dawson, Catherine O'Hara, Keith David, Bruce Campbell, Garland Whitt, Montse Hernandez and Charles Demers.

Creator 

Max Brailler 

Max Brailler is the creator of the book 'The Last Kids on Earth' and he also serves as the writer and executive producer for the Netflix adaptation of the book. According to his website, Brailler is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than thirty books and games.
