It's the 21st century and mankind has made tremendous strides in technology that has resulted in an easier way of life, with reduced hassles and effort. But what if that very tech goes rogue and destroys your world? Well, wonder no more as Netflix's new show revolves around this very scenario!

'The Last Bus' sees a new kind of robot that is created to clean the world, mysteriously clean out all the people of the world instead of trash, leaving a few oddball students as the only survivors. The Netflix show is looking to be filled with fun, adventure, and thrills that will see the students go on a journey beyond their wildest dreams to find answers. When does 'The Last Bus' release and where to watch it?

'The Last Bus' is set to premiere on April 1, 2022. You can watch it exclusively on Netflix.

What is 'The Last Bus' about?

According to the official Netflix synopsis: 'Packed with comedy, heart, adventure, and mystery, 'The Last Bus' opens with the students traveling to the launch of the ‘genie orbs’, a new class of robot designed to clean up the environment. When the artificial intelligence-powered orbs are introduced by tech billionaire Dalton Monkhouse, they appear to vaporize everyone in the audience and thousands of identical events all over the world. The students just manage to make it back through the carnage to their rackety old school bus and head home in search of answers, only to be met by a mysteriously empty world.

Realizing they are going to have to fight back, the students embark on a road trip to find Dalton Monkhouse and get some answers to what has happened to their families. Along the way, they are confronted with a succession of increasingly intense challenges - from towering junk monsters to a damaged orb with a seemingly-personal vendetta – and the characters overcome their personal differences and private demons to become an improvised family.

Who stars in the Netflix sci-fi mystery series?

Robert Sheehan as Dalton Monkhouse

Robert Sheehan is a popular Irish actor who had artistic dreams ever since he was young and developed an interest in acting in primary school after playing Oliver in 'Oliver with a Twist'. His teenage years saw him join theatre as well as bag his initial roles in television with shows like 'The Clinic', 'Young Blades' etc. He later started bagging lead roles with the 2009 comedy 'Cherrybomb' being one of them. Some of his works include 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones', 'The Messenger', 'Mortal Engines', and more. He is best known for his roles as Nathan Young in 'Misfits', Darren Treacy in 'Love/Hate', and Klaus Hargreeves in the hit Netflix series 'The Umbrella Academy'. Shehan will essay the role of the tech billionaire Dalton Monkhouse in 'The Last Bus'.



 

The rest of the cast consists of Moosa Mostafa as Nas, Tom Basden as Mr Short, Daniel Frogson as Tom, Phoebe de Silva as Sophie, Lauryn Ajufo as Misha, Carys John as Bethan, Marlie Morrelle as Chelsea, Curtis Kantsa as Danny, and Nathanael Saleh as Josh.
