Netflix 'The Ice Road' Full Cast List: Meet Liam Neeson and other actors
It only takes a split second to make the difference between ice and life. The man who is at the helm of those decisions in the film 'The Ice Road' streaming soon on Netflix, is Liam Neeson. Neeson plays Mike, an expert driver especially on ice, who has to put all his skills to the test in an almost impossible rescue mission to save trapped miners.
It's a film that Neeson fans should probably catch for more reasons than one, considering Neeson has said that he would soon like to retire from action roles. 'The Ice Road' will come to Netflix on June 25 and promises to be a ride that certainly won't leave you cold.

Liam Neeson as Mike
Liam Neeson plays Mike, a ‘big-rig’ ice road driver who must lead an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save trapped miners, contending with thawing waters, a massive storm and a threat he and his team don't see coming. Neeson's breakthrough role was of course when he was picked by Steven Spielberg to play Oskar Schindler in 'Schindler's List', a role which brought Neeson Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor.
Neeson then cemented his star status with roles in 'Roy' where he played Scottish highlander Rob Roy and 'Michael Collins' where he played the revolutionary Irish leader. He then went on to star in several big-budget Hollywood projects including 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace', Christopher Nolan's 'Batman Begins' and provided the voice for Aslan in 'The Chronicles of Narnia' franchise. Neeson found a second surprise career as an action leading man with the release of 'Taken' in early 2009 and he went on to do several more action films including sequels to 'Taken 2' and 'The Grey' and 'The A-Team'.
Laurence Fishburne as Goldenrod
Laurence Fishburne plays the brains behind the rescue operation to get the trapped miners out alive in 'The Ice Road'. Fishburne brings his usual compelling presence to the role from what we have seen in the trailers of the film. Fishburne is of course known for a number of iconic roles. However, it was his role in the film 'Boyz n the Hood' that truly got Fishburne noticed.
The other landmark role of Fishburne's successful career was his role as Ike Turner in 'What's Love Got To Do With It', where his portrayal as the enraged Ike Turner garnered Fishburne an Oscar nomination. Fishburne's other memorable roles include Morpheus in 'The Matrix' franchise, Tyrone "Mr. Clean" Miller in the war film 'Apocalypse Now' and "The Bowery King" in the 'John Wick' film series. Fishburne has also been a part of television series such as 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation', 'Hannibal' and more recently he has played Earl "Pops" Johnson in the ABC sitcom 'Black-ish'.
Amber Midthunder as Tantoo
Sharing screen space with Neeson and Fishburne in 'The Ice Road' seems to be quite a breakthrough role for Amber Midthunder. Prior to 'The Ice Road', the actor was known for her roles on series such as 'Roswell' and 'Legion'. Midthunder plays the gutsy Tantoo whose brother is also trapped in the mines in 'The Ice Road'.
