While most of the world is in lockdown, many of us are trying to find ways to keep ourselves occupied as we remain confined indoors. Thankfully, streaming services come to the rescue, especially Netflix, which has a slew of new releases scheduled in April.

'The House of Flowers' aka 'La Casa de Flores' about a dysfunctional upper-class Mexican family that owns the prestigious eponymous flower shop was an immediate hit when it released in August 2018, even sparking the #PaulinadelaMoraChallenge where fans would try to replicate the eldest de la Mora sibling’s signature slow Mexican accent.

Season 1 showed the de la Mora family patriarch Ernesto's mistress wreaking havoc when she kills herself, prompting him to bring his illegitimate young daughter to live with his wife and three adult children.

Season 2 picks up after the de la Mora family's matriarch Virginia's death and continued with the same energy as the first season as secrets come to light and relationships are messed around with.

Release date

The third season of 'The House of Flowers' will drop on Netflix on April 23.

Plot

The first season explores the dysfunctional dynamics between Ernesto and his family — wife Virginia, adult children Paulina, Elena and Julian. Virginia is the leading face of 'The House of Flowers', the family’s prestigious flower business. Ernesto's mistress Roberta, who also narrates the show, was helping Ernesto run his side business, a drag cabaret named The House of Flowers. When Paulina, the eldest de la Mora sibling, separated from Maria Jose, her ex-husband, who transitioned to a woman, returns with her teenage son while Elena returns with her American boyfriend Dominique.

In Season 2, after Virginia dies, her children go their separate ways. But they reunite to honor their mother and get revenge on Diego, their former accountant who stole money from the family at the end of Season 1.

Season 3 could potentially be the show's last. There is currently not a lot of details. Keep an eye on this space for updates!
