The Good Place Season 4: Chidi erased his memory for the sanctity of the experiment, but what about Tahani and the rest of the gang?

In order to protect the sanctity of the experiment, Chidi decides it is best if he too knows as little as possible, and with the hope that he and Eleanor would find their happily ever after in the dot of Jeremy Bearimy's "i," he gets his memory erased.

'The Good Place' is returning for one last season on Thursday, September 26, and we sure are excited to see the gang back. Unfortunately, not every member of the gang will know they are actually part of the gang. As we know, Chidi Anagonye (William Jackson Harper) requested his memory be erased so he doesn't inadvertently ruin the experiment that they are working on — after all, the fate of all of humanity hangs by the thread.

Shawn (Marc Evan Jackson) and Michael (Ted Danson) came to an agreement with the Judge (Maya Rudolph), wherein they agreed to conduct an experience in the Medium Place to see whether human beings are capable of becoming better. The experiment would be conducted by Michael and gang, but the humans for the experiment would be chosen by Shawn and his demons, and they do a brilliantly evil job at choosing the right people.

In the Season 1 finale, we see that Shawn has brought in the first two humans — Simone Garnett (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) and a blogger who constantly berated and belittled Tahani Al-Jameel (Jameela Jamil) when they were on Earth. Simone, who we were introduced to in Season 3, is Chidi's ex-girlfriend, and if we know Chidi, we know that he is going to say or do something that would let Simone know that something is off.

In order to protect the sanctity of the experiment, Chidi decides it is best if he too knows as little as possible, and with the hope that he and Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell) would find their happily ever after in the dot of Jeremy Bearimy's "i," he gets his memory erased. This certainly prevents Chidi from ruining the experiment but what about Tahan?

In the previous season, we saw just how difficult it was for her to let go of the things he wrote about her. She, much like the rest of the gang, knows how important the experiment is. However, the blogger continues to be as condescending and critical of her as he used to be, and it might truly be a miracle for her to avoid messing this up.

The two people who are meant to make the Medium Place hell for Jason (Manny Jacinto) and Eleanor haven't even been introduced. And, we know just how impulsive Eleanor can be, and how clueless Jason can be. Will they be able to maintain their cool? We will find out when Season 4 of 'The Good Place' premieres on NBC on Thursday, September 26.
