'The Good Place' star D'Arcy Carden teases 90-minute finale and aftershow of the series as she compares it to 'Friends' ending

The show's star Kristen Bell and executive producer Michael Schur have maintained that they had always envisioned for the show to run for four seasons, and yet, saying goodbye to Eleanor, Michael, Chidi, Janet, Jason, and Tahani seems unfathomable.

Much to the disappointment of all 'The Good Place' fans, the NBC show is coming to an end with Season 4. One of the best things about one of NBC's funniest smartest shows coming to an end is that the creators got to perfectly end the story in a way that made sense to them. The show's star Kristen Bell and executive producer Michael Schur have maintained that they had always envisioned for the show to run for four seasons, and yet, saying goodbye to Eleanor (Bell), Michael (Ted Danson), Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Janet (D'Arcy Carden), Jason (Manny Jacinto), and Tahani (Jameela Jamil), seems unfathomable.

Thankfully, the showrunners have planned a perfect goodbye for us, fans, and when MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) caught up with Carden at the 2019 Vulture Festival she revealed that the finale will be special and what follows it, even more so. "I'm very happy it is happening," she said, adding, how the aftershow 'The Good Place' has planned is going to be fun. "It's very old-school, very '90s... 'Friends' did that with Conan O'Brien and I remember watching every second of it. It's fun when the cast gets together and gets to talk about it."

Carden, who has made being a very robot-like celestial non-girl entity iconic, reveals that there "ain't a Janet" she doesn't like to play, but she has a soft spot for "regular old good Janet". However, the most fun version is definitely the bad one. "I don't play her that often, so when I do its a real treat," she revealed, before revealing her strange long-term association with her 'Barry' co-star and boss Bill Hader.

"I was Bill's nanny for years... like five years of something about a decade ago," she chirps, adding how she is still "super close" with his three daughters and him. "It's a weird...It's funny to go from being somebody's nanny to - I guess - acting with them. I was going to say, he is still my boss. He was my boss then, now he is my boss just in a different way."

The finale of 'The Good Place' is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, January 30, 2020.
