'The Good Doctor' Season 3 Finale: Dr Melendez's journey comes to an end but fans are not ready to say goodbye
A senior surgeon and an accomplished doctor, Dr Neil Melendez has not only saved hundreds of patients at St Bonaventure Hospital but also won the hearts of fans from all around. However, his journey has finally come to an end.
Much to our disappointment, Neil suffered a bad injury from the earthquake, as we saw in part one of the finale. Despite the best efforts from Dr Claire Browne and Dr Audrey Lim to save him, Neil's internal hemorrhage had taken its toll and they were unable to save him.
As he lay in bed, taking his last breath, fans break into tears and struggled to say goodbye to one of their favorite doctors. In fact, they were not ready to stop seeing Neil on the show.
One fan got aggressive and tagged the actor, refusing to let his character die. "No offense @IamNickGonzalez but if you die on #TheGoodDoctor I will kill you."
Another fan was not ready to watch the show anymore if Nicholas Gonzalez's character does not make it beyond this season. "'Good Doctor' Fans Are 'Done' With the Show If Dr Melendez Doesn't Make It Past the Finale #TheGoodDoctor."
In a scene when Neil reminisces his life and says goodbye to Claire, fans were shocked, just hearing those words. "#TheGoodDoctor WHAT DO YOU MEAN GOODBYE NO NOT TODAY SATAN I WILL RIOT," said a fan.
Emotionally heavy, dramatic and intense in every scene, the Season 3 finale of 'The Good Doctor' left fans sitting through the episode with a heavy heart. "Omg this season finale of the Good Doctor is killing me," regretted a fan, despite loving the closing episode.
Finally, when the senior doctor said goodbye to us, after professing his love for Claire, it broke the hearts of fans into a million pieces.
One fans said, "I love The Good Doctor so much but this finale... man my heart has never shattered so much over a tv show what the hell," while another added, "Always & Forever #melendaire RIP Neil Broken heart #TheGoodDoctor."
