The horrific crime case garnered worldwide coverage after the case came forward and saw a girl named Gabby Petito getting disappeared before her remains were found in Wyoming.
The disappearance of Gabby Petito set off a nationwide search for the 22-year-old girl who wanted to become a popular blogger. Her parents reported her missing in September 2021, when she didn’t reach home following her cross-country vacation with her fiancé Brian Laundrie. As soon as the case nabbed the media’s attention, Petito’s social media profiles were dissected thoroughly for clues and to find what could have happened to her during the trip.

When does ‘The Gabby Petito Story’ release and where can you watch it?
According to Lifetime, the movie will be shot in Utah this summer and premiere later this year. No official date has been announced as of yet. The movie will be premiering exclusively on Lifetime. Viewers can download the app from Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
On the other hand, Lifetime is available on devices such as Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire Stick, Chromecast, Android TV, and Samsung TV.
What is ‘The Gabby Petito Story’ all about?
The official synopsis reads, “The Gabby Petito Story will explore Gabby and her fiancé Brian Laundrie’s complicated relationship and what may have gone wrong during their cross-country trip that resulted in Gabby’s tragic murder.”
Not just the US, but the entire world knows about the gruesome case. There are a lot of layers to this case and it will interesting to see if Lifetime goes bolder on the project and shows what really happened on this trip. The movie will also explore all the signs that made everyone believe that Gabby and Brian’s love story was destined to have a disastrous end.
Who stars in the upcoming Lifetime movie?
Evan Hall will be portraying the role of Brian Laundrie and Skyler Samuels will be seen playing Gabby Petito.
According to the latest snaps from the movie’s set, both actors are being shown filming a scene where the couple playing Gabby and Brian are engaged in an argument before Brian goes away. A few moments later he was seen sitting inside the infamous white van that he used to drive back home after killing his fiance.

The young actress began her career in 2004 and made her debut with a cameo appearance in the TV series ‘Drake & Josh’. Meanwhile, her feature film debut happened in 2009 with ‘The Stepfather’ alongside Amber Heard. Her first major acting role came in 2010 when she was cast as Andie Bates in ‘The Gates’ TV series.
In 2015, she was one of the main cast members of the series ‘Scream Queens’ along with Emma Roberts and Lea Michele.
While talking about playing Gabby in the upcoming movie, Samuels said it’s hard playing the character because of what happened. The actress also hopes to present the case in a manner that the media failed to show. She added, “I just can’t imagine the nightmare that they (Gabby’s parents) have to live through. All I can hope is that our representation of this story gives the world a view of their daughter that the headlines didn’t.”
The movie’s director Thora Birch will also be seen playing a pivotal role in the film.
