The dust has settled from the multiversal Crisis, and there's a new reality that our superheroes have to deal with. The ripples of change are being felt across the different Arrowverse shows. 'Arrow' came to an end after eight grand seasons, with Oliver Queen's heroic death and white flame of sacrifice while the other Paragons literally stood and watched. While Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) deals with the absurd reality of Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) being a good human on Earth, Barry Allen and his team are going up against some rather deadly and sinister villains. But that's if Iris (Candice Patton) doesn't get to them first.

'The Flash' returned after a lengthy hiatus with a gritty and action-packed episode, with Iris at the heart of it. Barry and John Diggle leave town to ponder on whether Oliver Queen left them any clues with his gift, just to give Iris the screen-time she deserves. Despite being a strong and powerful character, lately, Iris has been rather relegated to the sidelines. Well, that's about to change in the next few episodes.

In the latest episode of 'The Flash', Iris rushes to track down the mystery of Black Hole, while almost getting killed by Doctor Light. Considering that Iris had been intensely preparing for Crisis, she has been living each day like her last, as she herself says. Even though, she comes into her own groove with this episode and outshines everyone else as she saves the day by just using her knowledge of journalistic ethics. Not without some severe injuries, though.

Luckily,  Joe West has one of his usual patented talks with Iris and tells her that she doesn't have to live like that anymore. They survived the Crisis. "We have time now,” he says. “Don’t go charging to the frontline like you have nothing to lose.”

The episode ends on a rather nerve-wracking note, as we see Iris being absorbed into the mirror world. In the next episode, we see a cold and standoffish Iris, and Barry looking rather hurt and perplexed. Evil Iris? Bring it on. Put a stellar actor like Candice Patton to good use!

'The Flash' airs on CW Tuesdays.
