The world is about to end. People in every corner of the world are anticipating an upcoming disaster that will destroy the world and everything we know of it.

Netflix's French movie 'The Decline' (original title 'Jusqu'au déclin') follows a group of survivalists, who, anticipating a disaster, are preparing for the worst in store.  Sounds familiar in today's time?

However, the disaster that is coming is not going to be the one they predicted. Here is everything you need to know about Netflix's original movie 'The Decline'.

'The Decline' will be coming to Netflix on March 27.  

Plot

According to the official synopsis of the Netflix movie, "As a way to prepare for disasters, family man Antoine attends a training program on survivalism given by Alain at his self-sufficient retreat. Anticipating a natural, economical or social breakdown, the group goes through drills meant to prepare them for apocalypses of all types. But the catastrophe waiting for them is nothing like what they anticipated."

Guillaume Laurin as Antoine

Laurin was seen in 'Drame de fin de soirée' ('Late Night Drama'), a project with Patrice. He also co-wrote, produced and performed in 'Le cycle des moteurs', another project with Patrice. The short film was selected as a finalist at the Gala du Cinéma Québécois 2016. 

Réal Bossé as Alain

Bossé is known for his work in a supporting role in 'Continental'. He won two Gémeaux Awards for writing and acting in '19-2'. 

Marc-André Grondin as François

Grondin is best known for his role as Zachary Beaulieu in Jean-Marc Vallée's 'C.R.A.Z.Y', a performance for which he won the Jutra Award for Best Actor. He is also known for his work on 'L' Imposteur', 'April and the Twisted World', 'Goon: Last of the Enforcers' and 'Ravenous'. 

Creators

'The Decline', directed by Patrice Laliberté, is his feature film debut. The director is best known for his short film titled 'Overpass' which won the Toronto International Film Festival Award for Best Canadian Short Film at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.

He is also known for his work on short films such as 'Je t'aime à la livre', 'Laisser don'faire', 'Le souffle que l'on retient', 'Le cycle des moteurs' and 'Late Night Drama' as well as the television miniseries 'La Boîte à malle'.
