Zena Halpern's map has been at the center of discussion for a while now on 'The Curse Of Oak Island'. It was brought up by Erin Helton, who believes that there are strategically placed boulders that just might point to the treasure vault. There are many such permutations and combinations and the team is sure they're edging closer to unraveling the mystery of Oak Island.

This isn't the first time that the team has believed in such theories. Last season, their fellow historians had told them that there was a geometric figure in Nicolas Poussin's paintings, which could lead to the buried treasure.  In Episode 4, the team found a "perfect line" that starts from Jerusalem, leads through Versailles and ended at Oak Island. They're sure that the Knights Templar dug up Solomon's treasure that consisted of the Menorah, which might have been taken to North America for safekeeping. The Menorah could have been buried at Oak Island. Again, these are all theories, but that doesn't stop the team from picking up their shovels and going off digging in remote areas of the island.

Halpern's ancient map takes center stage again in Episode 8. The synopsis reads, "Discovery of a possible slipway in the swamp reinforces the team's eagerness to excavate further; the team is shocked when it learns Zena's map may have been pointing to the elusive Treasure Vault all along."

Meanwhile, they are also trying to understand the roadway in the sea and its connection to the swamp. Last week, Alex Lagina and Tony Sampson dove into the sea in the hopes of finding answers. However, there was not much visibility and they even lost communication for a while with their team members. They did not find much, either. There are several different pieces of the jigsaw-puzzle like mystery scattered everywhere, starting with the oxen foot trail, the slipway under the swamp, the 'strategically' marked boulders, and the anomaly buried under the swamp, which could just be the burnt ship. More questions, no answers, and there's a time limit. Are the Laginas finally making headway or are they chasing shadows?

'The Curse of Oak Island' airs on History Channel, Tuesdays at 9 pm.
