Rick and Marty Lagina are back from quarantine and they're more than ready to unravel the mystery of Oak Island. The premiere of Season 8 was an exciting one for several reasons, one being that they discovered something looking suspiciously shiny 170 feet underground.  Diver Tyler Newton went 170 feet underground and found a "gold shiny" object, that slipped through his fingers and fell further into the Oak Island depths. This is a crucial moment, as it could have been the key to the legendary treasure that was said to have been buried on the island, centuries before and might just be a historical breakthrough. But our Fellowship never loses hope: They're on to something. At the end of episode, the discovery of tar kiln raises more questions as well, not to mention Gary Drayton's 'top pocket find' that includes a suspiciously old coin.

The synopsis for the episode reads, "Out of quarantine and ready for action, Rick, Marty and the team unearth hard evidence of a centuries old tar kiln, suggesting significant industry happened on Oak Island long before the discovery of the Money Pit."

So in the upcoming episode, we'll address what this presence of tar kiln means, or if it means anything at all. For years, the team has been looking for evidence of activity on the island, and the triangular-shaped mystery at the bottom of the swamp has been speculated to be a ship. They've also found several items from ships or so they believe, including a rigging axe, last week. They've even found iron artifacts that led them to believe they're from the ship-shaped anomaly in the swamp. Could the tar kiln be connected to the ship?

For years, treasure hunters have searched Oak Island thoroughly, in the hope that they will be the ones to extricate wooden chests filled with gold, as the legend says. The tale behind this manic search began centuries before the show ‘The Curse Of Oak Island’, in 1795, young men discovered a depression in the ground beneath an old oak tree on Oak island, leading them to the conclusion that there’s treasure buried there. The hunt continued in the late 1800s, with little success but more ferocity. And then began the "curse" where five humans perished in the hunt for buried treasure. According to the legend, in order to solve the Oak Island mystery, seven had to die. And so, the Lagina brothers, decided to take on the task head-on in 2006.

'The Curse Of Oak Island' airs on History Channel, Tuesdays at 9 pm.
