What do you do if you finally find a hint of treasure that has been troubling historians for the past few centuries? Do you take it home or drop it 170 feet further into the ground?

Well, in the latest episode of 'The Curse Of Oak Island', instructed by the Laginas, diver Tyler Newton heads underground to inspect the "shiny gold" things. He finds something suspiciously looking like a gold coin and then drops it further. Fans threw their hands up in shock and are upset at the sheer carelessness of it. They also say that he really doesn't deserve his paycheck this week. Ouch.

"Not much of a professional if he dropped the coin, he doesn't deserve his paycheck this week lol. #OakIslandCursers #CurseOfOakIsland #OakIslandWatchParty," a fan wrote.

"Dropped it. Are you flipping kidding me?? #OakIslandCursers #curseofoakisland #OakIslandWatchParty," another wrote.

"How do you dive 144’ in to a hole and not take something to put your spoils in??? I knew this Tyler Newton diver wasn’t ready for #OakIsland. #curseofoakisland," another fan wrote.

"He dropped it. The suspense was killing me too! That's so aggravating. #curseofoakisland," a fan tweeted.

For years, treasure hunters have scoured Oak Island thoroughly, in the hope that they will be the ones to extricate wooden chests filled with gold. The tale behind this manic search began centuries before the show ‘The Curse Of Oak Island’. In 1795, young men discovered a depression in the ground beneath an old oak tree on Oak island, leading them to the conclusion that there’s treasure buried there. The hunt continued in the late 1800s, with little success but more ferocity.

And then began the "curse", where five humans perished in the hunt for buried treasure. According to the legend, in order to solve the Oak Island mystery, seven had to die.

And so, the Lagina brothers, decided to take on the task head-on in 2006. They haven’t discovered any treasure no, but have formulated some bizarre theories, including the idea that the island is the hiding place for the Holy Grail and the lost folios of William Shakespeare.

'The Curse Of Oak Island' airs on History Channel on Tuesdays at 9 pm.
