And that's that. No treasure and more loose ends, but that's the pattern of 'The Curse Of Oak Island' and fans are wearily used to it now.

In the finale of the History Channel show, the Lagina brothers came to the conclusion that there is treasure on the island, and hell yeah, they'll fight for it, assuming there is a Season 8 for the show.

They didn't make any spectacular finds in this episode, apart from an understanding that there is a man-made tunnel in one of their excavation sites. Fans, who really enjoy taking potshots at the show, have had a lot to say during the finale.

Some viewers raised questions about the tunnel that the team had found in the previous episode. "And what happened with the tunnel they sent a camera into last episode? Are they going to wait another season to follow up on that? #CurseOfOakIsland," tweeted a fan.

Other fans were not entirely sure that the show will return. "Well, I have to admit that this was a somber finale. It did seem uncertain that they would return. Either way, it has been great fun tweeting with all of you again this season. Until next season? Cheers!" wrote a fan.

"Do not think this show will be renewed," wrote a fan. One viewer called it a rather "disappointing" end. "I watched the season preview frame by frame. This ending was quite a disappointment. I'm sad that I'm this disappointed."

"WHAT A F**KING WASTE OF TIME," a fan wrote. "Well that season finale was a letdown," another tweeted.

Another viewer said that watching the show was like being in a toxic relationship. "Does anyone else feel like they are in an abusive relationship with #CurseOfOakIsland." "Another season gone. So much time and money wasted. Nothing to show for it, except for maybe me getting massive headaches and possible CTE," wrote a fan.

Meanwhile, some fans want the show to be "spiced" up. "They need new producers to spice this show up. Maybe someone goes to prison. Maybe there's an explosion. Maybe one of their wives sleeps with that dude who planted his toonie," wrote a fan.

Of course, some were sure that the toonie Marty triumphantly came up with was just planted. "This obviously staged scene of Marty and Gary stumbling across Marty's toonie is some TOP-POCKET BULLSHIT! #oakislandcursers," wrote the fan.

Well. Will the show return? Will they find the treasure? Do you care?
