'The Conners' Season 3: Meet John Goodman, Sara Gilbert and the rest of the cast on the ABC comedy series

The ABC comedy 'The Conners', a spin-off from the 1988 comedy series 'Roseanne' returns with its third season this fall. The premise of this season is the hilarious family dealing with life during Covid-19 times with much-needed laughs since people have been cooped up at home for months now. Here are the talented actors and actresses bringing the comedy series to your small screen.

Goodman is recognized for his roles as Howard in '10 Cloverfield Lane' (2016), Charlie Meadows in 'Barton Fink' (1991), John Chambers in 'Argo' (2012), and Harling Mays in 'Flight' (2012). The actor also played the role of Dan Conner in 'Roseanne' (1988-2018), and his most recent works include 'Black Earth Rising' (2018), 'Captive State' (2019), 'The Righteous Gemstones' (2019), 'Easy Does It' (2019) and 'The Freak Brothers' (2019). According to IMDb, the actor is currently filming the TV series 'Monsters at Work' (2021) where he will play the role of Sully. The actor has been nominated for ten Primetime Emmys' and has won one in 2007 for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' for his role as judge Robert Bebe. The actor has also won a Golden Globe in 1993 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical for 'Roseanne.'

Gilbert is a producer, writer and actress. She has produced the TV series 'The Talk' (2011-2016), 'Roseanne' and 'The Conners'. Her roles as an actress include Sylvie Cooper in 'Poison Ivy' (1992), Tina Barr in 'Riding in Cars with Boys' (2001), and Sudie Harrigan in 'Sudie and Simpson' (1990). Her recent works include 'Living Biblically' (2018), 'Happy Together' (2018), 'Weird City' (2019), and 'Atypical' (2019). As a writer, her credits include 'Roseanne' (1992), 'Even the Losers' (1998), and 'Dogs with Jobs' (2001-2004). The actress has been nominated for two Primetime Emmy's for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for 'Roseanne' - one in 1993 and another in 1994.

Metcalf is known for her roles as Marion McPherson in 'Lady Bird' (2017), Debbie Salt in 'Scream 2' (1997), Mrs. Davis in 'Toy Story', and Jackie Harris in 'Roseanne' (1988-2018). Her recent works include 'The Accidental Wolf' (2017), 'American Dad!' (2018), 'Supergirl' (2018) and 'The Big Bang Theory' (2007-2018).  The actress has won three Primetime Emmys' for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for 'Roseanne', in 1992, 1993, and 1994. She has also won an AFCC Award in 2017 for Best Supporting Actress for 'Lady Bird', an EDA Award, and a Movies for Grownups Award in 2018 for the same category and same production.

Alicia Goranson as Becky Conner-Healy

Goranson is known for her roles as Candace in 'Boys Don't Cry' (1999), Becky Conner in 'Roseanne' (1988-2018), Tattoo Girl in 'Fringe' (2009), and Young Hy in 'How to Make an American Quilt' (1995). Her recent works include 'Inside Amy Schumer' (2016), 'Hurricane Bianca: From Russia with Hate' (2018), and 'Buck Run' (2019). The actress won the Innovator Award in 2008 for 'Roseanne' which she shared with her teammates. She was also nominated for the Young Artist Award twice - one in 1989 for Best Young Actress Featured, Co-starring, Supporting, Recurring Role in a Comedy or Drama Series or Special for 'Roseanne' and another in 1990 for Best Young Actress Supporting Role in a Television Series for the same production. 

The rest of the cast includes Jayden Rey as Mary Conner, Michael Fishman as DJ Conner, Emma Kenney as Harris Conner-Healy, Ames McNamara as Mark Conner-Healy, Jayden Rey as Mary Conner, Maya Lynne Robinson as Geena Williams-Conner, and many more.

The listed synopsis of the comedy series reads, 'The Conners' follows America's favorite family as they continue to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford. Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky, and DJ will continue to grapple with parenthood, dating, financial pressures, and aging in working-class America. Through it all - the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns - with love, humor, and perseverance, the family prevails." As for Season 3, Metacritic's synopsis reads that the series "continues the ups and downs of the family including the effect of Covid-19."
