Spoilers for 'The Chi' Season 3 Episode 8 'Frunchroom'

'Frunchroom' was all about Kiesha Williams (Birgundi Baker) after she was rescued from her kidnapper. The escape ended with the abductor being killed, however, it was understandably tough for Kiesha as she struggled to wash off the torrid memories. The episode is also one of the most heartbreaking ones as it gives a detailed look at the minds of those who have suffered physical and mental trauma due to sexual abuse. Throughout 'Frunchroom', we see Kiesha suffer.

Needless to say, the episode saw fans weighing in and sharing their thoughts. While the episode garnered praise for trying to explain a sensitive issue to the society, much of the fans' debate centered around Nina's (Tyla Abercrumbie) concern for her daughter. While it is safe to say that it was a mother's concern, a bunch of fans just felt she was just overdoing it to the point where Kiesha felt stifled and annoyed. They reasoned the character would need her own space.

"Y’all please leave her alone. she just needs some space! #TheChi" wrote one of the fans catching up on the episode.

This was seconded by many with one of the fans tweeting: "I think she needs some time first but she will have to talk about it eventually! #TheChi "

For some fans, the fact she was being spoken about and scrutinized of sorts was also a cause of concern. "The fact that they talkin about her like she can’t hear issue most hurtful part. #TheChi" read one of the comments.

A few fans had questions about how Miriam A Hyman's Dre couldn't help much considering she was a counselor. "And I’m still confused as to how Dre is a school counselor and doesn’t know how to deal with this #TheChi" asked one of the fans. However, what we can't fault Dre for is for not trying. She was one of the few who believed Kiesha needed someone to speak to and also have her own space. This would be the start of the recovery phase even though Nina bluntly refused to do so.

What are your thoughts on Kiesha's mindset post the rescue?

'The Chi' Season 3 airs Sundays 9 pm ET on Showtime.
