'Billions' Season 5's coruscating mid-season finale and the hiatus may have overshadowed 'The Chi' Season 3's brilliant premiere, but that didn't stop fans from tuning in and enjoying an early release of Episode 1, titled 'Foe 'Nem', and sharing their opinions about the same. With the season opener garnering positive reactions and much of the discussion revolving around Brandon's (Jason Mitchell) death and the introduction of Miriam A Hyman's Dre, there was a shocker at the end of the chapter in the form of Keisha's (Birgundi Baker) disappearance.

At this stage, it is safe to assume Episode 2, titled 'Brewfurd' is the actual start of the new season. Fans will also note this was something similar to what The CW's hit teen drama, 'Riverdale' did with Season 4's pilot as they lost Luke Perry to a stroke. Now with Keisha's disappearance, things in 'The Chi' are sure to switch gears. The episodic promo hinted at the introduction of La La Anthony as one of the new characters with a multi-episode arc on the show that has already piqued the interest of fans.

The clip sees Emmett (Jacob Latimore) checking her out before telling her his plan of building a legacy that earns him approval from Anthony. So far, what we do know is she plays Dominique in the series running a trap kitchen and by the looks of the promo, she just might strike up a deal with Emmett that sees them rake in the moolah. It is refreshing to see Emmett take the role of being in the food business and with Brandon gone, many hoped it would end the quick glimpses of delectable food they're used to seeing on-screen.

With his move, we're hopeful that it's problem solved. The clip also sees a quick interaction between Trig (Luke James) and Jake (Michael V. Epps), another arc and that would make the former fill in after Reg's (Barton Fitzpatrick) death. Kevin (Alex Hibbert) is concocting a plan of action while Dre confronts Ronnie and the clip closes with a shot of Kevin being held at gunpoint. The only question: Is Keisha safe? Fan theories suspect Ronnie, but that's an answer coming to light only in 'Brewfurd'.

The official synopsis by Showtime reads: "Kevin (Alex Hibbert) rallies Papa (Shamon Brown Jr) and Jake (Michael V Epps) for help. Emmett (Jacob Latimore) finds a short-term solution to his food shortage problem. Jada (Yolonda Ross) samples the dating scene and a local trap kitchen run by Dom (Lala Anthony). Trig (Luke James) devises a plan to get custody of his brother Jake from Douda (Curtiss Cook)."

'The Chi' Season 3 airs Sundays 9 pm ET on Showtime.
