'The Bold Type' Season 4 Episode 11: Is Sutton Brady-Hunter pregnant, what does this mean for Richard and her?
Spoilers for 'The Bold Type' Season 4 Episode 11 titled 'Leveling Up'
Sutton Brady-Hunter (Meghann Fahy) returns in the latest season of 'The Bold Type' as a newly married woman and with a promotion at Scarlet Magazine. In between these roles, she is also helping her best friend Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens) recover from her double mastectomy, and helping Kat Edison (Aisha Dee) with a job.
But apart from that, Fahy returns in the role of the ever-so-cheerful Sutton with the signature cheeky humor and zing that we missed so much. At the end of the previous season, Sutton tied the knot with Richard Hunter (Sam Page) in a very heartwarming ceremony that brought the guests to tears. There was that moment on the show where it didn't look like they would go ahead with it, but it all ended well. It was at the wedding only when Oliver Grayson (Stephen Conrad Moore) promoted her to a stylist at Scarlet.
In 'Leveling Up', Sutton's work as a stylist is exhausting and she finds himself sick to her stomach throughout the episode. At first, she doesn't join the dots and just thinks that she's sick. But it is when she is with Richard later in the day that realization dawns upon her - her period has been four days late and she is sick to her stomach. Although she doesn't say it out loud, the show has clearly made a case for it.
This might be the arc the makers choose for Sutton. While their age difference has been a topic of discussion (and insecurity) between the two, if Sutton really is pregnant, this might make that conversation all the more relevant to them. Sutton has only just been promoted to a stylist and has barely got a chance to work in that role. A baby at this point will delay her professional plans further. Is that a risk that Sutton will take? Will she sacrifice her career for the sake of Richard?
Where is their relationship headed? In the official trailer for the season, a crying Sutton can be heard telling Richard that she can't give him what he wants. Does Richard want a child and Sutton doesn't?
