Spoilers for 'The Blacklist' Season 8 Episode 1

'The Blacklist' is back, folks! And, it's already been an exciting couple of minutes. Elizabeth 'Liz' Keen (Megan Boone) is wondering whether to trust her manipulative super-spy mother Katarina Rostova (Lotte Verbeek), which might just lead her to betray Raymond 'Red' Reddington (James Spader) and the task force again. Katarina gives her a sob story about she was framed by Dom, that Liz believes. She says that she has been hunted for a crime that she didn't commit, and that's why she is on the run. She continues to plant malicious information about Red to her, saying that he just needs her for immunity, and is using her. She says that Red is using her, the same way her own father did to her.

There's a lot to distrust surrounding Katarina's story. For starters, she just might not be Liz's mother. Fans are highly suspicious and are plain annoyed that Liz is believing her. Cry us a river, Kat. Fans are furious and say that Red has never lied to Liz. "Liz is the worst FBI Profiler in history #TheBlacklist I have never hated a main character as much as this dummy," an angry fan says.

"Liz is an idiot. #TheBlacklist," another wrote. "I literally had to turn #theblacklist off. Elizabeth and her fake mother literally get on my nerves and not in a way that makes me want to keep watching. They’re not characters you “love to hate” they’re just terrible characters," an annoyed fan wrote. "Liz is getting played. I hope she doesn’t fall for this! Doesn’t her specialized knowledge of being an agent give her the ability to smell BS from a mile away?#TheBlacklist," a fan tweeted.

"Why does Liz believe her so called mother like instantly?! Pleaaaaasssseeee be the profiler you're supposed to be Liz #TheBlacklist," another tweeted. "I want this woman dead. I"m tired of her pretending to be Liz's mother. And this N13 sounds like the real Katarina. #TheBlacklist," a fan wrote. "I believe Liz is the true villain in this series. Katarina is manipulating her like a marionette! #TheBlacklist," a fan wrote. "Liz is the most gullible character ever. How many times has Red gone way above to help or save her. Then this woman claims to be her mother, w/no real proof, and she jumps into her arms. #TheBlacklist," a fan wrote.
