'The Blacklist' Season 7 Episode 9: Liz finally learns the truth about Katarina, but can she help Red track her murderous mother down?

It definitely seems like Liz has taken what she knows to Red, and is possibly even consulting with him on how to proceed, and he also feels confident now to share what he has been chasing with her.

Despite claiming time and again that Liz (Megan Boone) is one of FBI's best profilers, we saw her not batting an eyelid when her murderous mother Katarina (Laila Robins) moved in next door pretending to be a friendly, old lady and even went on to seek her help babysitting her daughter Agnes. Thankfully, though, Season 7 Episode 8 of 'The Blacklist' saw her finally catching on, and learning that she may be trusting someone that doesn't deserve it.

The episode ended with developments in three major storylines of the NBC series - Katarina loves Ilya aka Stranger (Brett Cullen) but she is going to torture him and is willing to go as far as to turn him into a "zombie" to get what she needs; Red (James Spader) is closer to finding out where Katarina is, especially since he knows she has relocated to the United States; Liz has learned that her daughter's babysitter is hiding more than she knows, and unless she deals with it right away, it's going to get dangerous. In the trailer for the upcoming Season 7 Episode 9, we see Liz and Red having a conversation about it.

It definitely seems like Liz has taken what she knows to Red, and is possibly even consulting with him on how to proceed, and he also feels confident now to share what he has been chasing with her. Liz tells Red, "Katarina has gone after the people you care about. If she can hurt them, she can hurt us," to which Red replies, I won't let that happen." It is clear that Red is going to team up with Liz, and possibly all of the Task Force to try and find Katarina before she inflicts any more pain on Ilya. He can certainly use all the help.

Truth be told, Katarina seems to love Agnes too much to cause her any pain, but we have seen how sociopathic she can be and there is no telling what she is capable of. Unfortunately, we will have to wait for two more weeks to find out exactly what she is planning, seeing as the show is going on a break this week. Season 7 Episode 9 of the 'The Blacklist' will be aired on Friday, December 7.
