'The Blacklist' Season 7 Episode 8: Can 'The Hawaladar' help Red in his fight against Katarina?

Honestly, after seven seasons of ‘The Blacklist’, the only thing we know for sure is that there is nothing we know for sure

Katarina (Laila Robins) and Red (James Spader) have been playing cat and mouse since the ongoing Season 7 of 'The Blacklist', with Katarina calling the shots and staying at least two steps ahead of our favorite crime overlord at all points.

In the previously aired Season 7 Episode 7, titled 'Hannah Hayes', however, we saw Red reaching out to his friend turned foe through her close associate. While the phone call with Katarina made Red realize that there is not much he can do to persuade her in any which way, he also got the lead he was looking for.

Red now knows that Katarina is after the real Ilya Koslov, and we now know that Frank Bloom aka The Stranger aka Red’s BFF for life (Brett Cullen) is Ilya Koslov – or do we? Honestly, after seven seasons of ‘The Blacklist’, the only thing we know for sure is that there is nothing we know for sure. In all probability, the upcoming Season 7 Episode 8 of the NBC series will show how Red is the real Ilya Koslov after all.

The upcoming ‘The Hawaldar’, will definitely take us closer to the mystery that is Red’s real identity though, especially since the official synopsis for the episode reads, “Desperate for information about the whereabouts of a longtime friend, Red directs the task force to find a blacklister who specializes in untraceable money transfers.” In all probability, this “Hawaldar” is the man with all the secrets.

In the middle of everything that is going on with Katarina, it is certainly unlikely that Red will focus on a random Blacklister, and especially since it is specified that he is “desperate” for some information from the said Blacklister, we know he is someone close to Red and his past. We sure hope this person would be an ally for Red in his ongoing war against Katarina.

Season 7 Episode 8 of ‘The Blacklist’, titled ‘The Hawaldar’ airs on Friday, November 22, on NBC.
