'The Blacklist' Season 7 Episode 2: Red finds an ally among enemies, but needs to protect someone else from Katarina now

Katarina has turned out to be a cold and ruthless person who will stop at nothing to get what she wants, and even as she tells Red that she takes no joy in torturing him, we know that she is not hating it

Season seven episode two of 'The Blacklist' will seemingly conclude the story of Louis T. Steinhil, and hopefully end Red's (James Spader) torture.

From the synopsis for the episode, we understand that he may escape Katarina's (Laila Robins) torture chamber and make contact with the Task Force, but he is not going to do it alone.

Katarina has turned out to be a cold and ruthless person who will stop at nothing to get what she wants, and even as she tells Red that she takes no joy in torturing him, we know that she is not hating it.

In the upcoming episode, we will see her draining Red's blood to the point of leaving him lifeless, and it is going to be a long and painful process.

As she explains to Red in the trailer for the episode, men die after they lose 40% of their blood. He is not too far from it, but if we know Red, we know that he is going to make it out in the last moment.

Thankfully, it seems like he has an ally among his enemies, someone who is clearly being coerced into doing Katarina's bidding. Our guess is that one of the nurses who "took care" of Red at the fake hospital would take pity on him and help him out.

Meanwhile, the Task Force and Liz (Megan Boone) are also working on saving him, and especially now that they know the hospital and the French police were all fake, and that Katarina is behind the kidnapping, they may not be all that far behind.

Unfortunately, though, that is not all. Red learns during the course of the episode that he is not Katarina's only target and this forces him to actually plan his actions more thoroughly, beyond just escaping.

Our guess is that Katarina is also after her daughter, and needs Red to lead her to him. For all we know, in her attempts to save Red, Liz may land at the very place he is trying to keep her from.

Watch season seven episode two of 'The Blacklist' on Friday, October 11, to find out how Red escapes from Katarina, and how she uses to him to get to someone else that she is looking for.
