'The Blacklist' Season 7 Episode 10: Were Liz and Red working together all along while the NBC series tricked us as usual?
After many episodes that highlighted Liz's (Megan Boone) inadequacies as an FBI profiler, she finally recognized her nanny and friendly next-door neighbor as her murderous mother Katarina (Laila Robins) as of Season 7 Episode 9 of 'The Blacklist'. It was a long journey to get there but we sure are glad that she eventually got there, and now we are just worried that without Red (James Spader) to back her up, she may have put not just her own life but also that of her daughter Agnes' at risk.
In the previously aired Episode 9 of the ongoing Season 7, we saw how Liz finally put two and two together. She had her doubts about Maddie aka Katarina as soon as she discovered blood in the park that her daughter and the nanny visited after Agnes told her she saw a dead body there. However, it was Red's information regarding Orion Relocation Services, which allowed Katarina to take on the identity of Maddie that made it certain.
Red is still in the dark about Katarina being Liz's nanny, though. In fact, she hasn't even told her colleagues within the Task Force that she is heading home but did not tell them why she was doing it so abruptly, even when Red asked her pointed questions. Fans are obviously furious with Liz for making yet another potentially fatal mistake when it comes to Katarina by hiding the truth from Red, but because this is 'The Blacklist', we also cannot write off the fact that she may have been working with Red all along and just hiding it from everyone else.
At least, for Liz's sake, we hope that is the case. She already betrayed Red once, and we sure see hiding Katarina's whereabouts from Red, especially when she is holding one of Red's best friends captive and torturing him, as yet another betrayal. We will find out how Red reacts once he finds out where Liz actually is in Season 7 Episode 10 of 'The Blacklist', titled 'Katarina Rastovaq' on Friday, December 13.
