Tayshia Adams chose Ivan to be the first among her final three suitors for the fantasy suite date. The weather in Palm Springs has been extremely taxing and the audiences wouldn't stop talking about how sweaty all of the men and their families as well as Tayshia was during last week's episode. Everyone was sweating bullets and fans of the show collectively petitioned for the air conditioning at the resort to be fixed because it was uncomfortable to watch everyone on screen look so flushed and bothered by the heat. When it was time for the fantasy suite dates, Tayshia decided to cool off a little but warned Ivan that this is not something that he'd ever expect. She then walked him towards two ice baths and unveiled a standee poster that read "World's Longest & Coldest Kiss'.

Not only were the two on a date, but they were also now going to aim to break a record. The previous record for the longest and coldest kiss stood at 5 minutes and 16 seconds and Tayshia and Ivan had to try and exceed it. Watching them go at it were show's host Chris Harrison and an official from the records. Before going in, Tayshia told the cameras, "My body might be numb but my lips are going to be burning hot."

Tayshia and Ivan had a really tough time entering the bath, the former even saying that she might cry. The clock went off after they settled and were ready to kiss. They did exceed the time, clocking in at 6 minutes and 35 seconds. The record was broken but the Internet said that it was too much of a price to pay for doing so in order to make things look romantic on screen.

"You know Bach producers are running out of ideas at La Quinta resort when they start physically torturing their contestants via ice bath #TheBachelorette," wrote a fan. "What type of date is this?? I would like the name of the sadistic producer who came up with thus #TheBachelorette," wrote another. "Lol, this season has been actual cult conditioning. Learning valuable secrets followed by actual torture #TheBachelorette," tweeted another fan. "Is the torture worse for Tayshia and Ivan or for us who have to watch this kiss in real-time? #TheBachelorette," another fan wrote.
